If you purely base success on silverware, your appreciation of Rugby League and possibly other things in life is very "narrow"
Most Bulls supporters have fantastic memories of the team competing to win, many remember feelings of great pride when they might have even lost a close game to a better team on the day but sweated "blood" trying to win it for themseves & us.
Success can be measured in many ways including crowd numbers, atmosphere, empathy between the team & its supporters, games won etc etc and, of course, silverware!
But, to measure success purely on trophies is the thinking of a "glory hunter fan" not the true supporters who enjoy seeing their team improve in skills & confidence, who enjoy seeing the club's young players making their mark on the game and getting the game time they deserve and, of course, the thrill of seeing their team competing for major honours ~ None of which has happened under McNamara !!!!!!

And up steps another bowler into the attack.

Clinging to some tenuous "empathy between supporters" style measurement of success is weak. At best. Poor. Very, very poor.

The essence is the reference to Potter as "a winner" as a coach. I am still awaiting an explaination how that is the case given his resources and evidence to the contrary.

The board are going to have to be careful on any new appointment. I for one believe they need some much improved marketing and a coach who can communicate with the fans as well as players. I used to feel part of the Bulls team. These last few years I definitetely feel as if I am just a customer.

So you can't answer the question? I will make it easy for you then. Even from my armchair in Scotland I can see that a runner-up spot in the GF is considerably better than a ninth place finish. You see a GF runners-up spot as failure so what then does a 9th place finish constitute?
