| Butler is NOT a centre. It's a swinging gate down our right hand side.

| Keighley just about deserving the 18-14 scoreline. We've got to get smarter and put more pressure on their line. Usual Patton kick to Gill at end of sets. So predictable, but comes off now and then.

| We dug in during the second half, and really took control. Ben Blackmore was immense, Gilly was more his usual self, and (gulp) Patton had a decent game. The argument will be that Keighley were weakened by the absence of usual backs, but as everyone says "you can only beat whats in front of you"

| Nice to have kept them nilled in the second half. Scored some nice tries. Awful start and need to work on not being so bad in those patches.

| One positive for me was having gone 12-0 down we didn’t crumble as in previous games, doesn’t mean we’ll come back every time but it’s a start. Scored a few points second half which should boost confidence

| Thought Walker, Scurr, England, Blackmore and Appo were class today. Disappointed with Jowitt’s cameo today. He’ll learn from it. Other than that thought the lads did well today. Need to sort ourselves out defensively though, Keighley made too many breaks for my liking in the first 15.
Hopefully Lawrence and Arundel will be fit for next week.

| I thought the forwards got really on top in the second half and they had no answer at all. Appos try was a cracker. Didn't look too good for Mason when he came off, Great comeback to nil them in the second half.

| Very solid second half performance following a pretty dreadful opening 40 minutes. Scored some great tries and our forwards laid a platform for the halves to cut open the Cougars defence. Patton and Holmes worked well today with Walker backing up in support.
MOTM between Appo, Patton and Walker.

| I thought it changed with the introduction of Scurr. He was immense with ball in hand and really got them on the front foot.

| Good result after a poor start, happy to give the Cougars another kick whilst they're a bit down!
Short turn around now and a tricky away game at Newcastle who ran Sheffield close on Sunday. Can this side build some momentum over the next couple of games and face Halifax again with some confidence? Sounds like Lawrence and Arundel aren't far off, so they would bring some fresh bodies into the side on Friday.

| Nice as well that, for the first time in a long time, we had a bit of killer instinct by racking up some points and keeping them nilled in the second half.
Keighley were depleted to be fair but there is potential in this squad. Scored some outstanding tries. We just need someone to unlock that consistency, firstly over 80 minutes, and then game by game. The start was abysmal and we really need to sort those patches out.
We're two wins off second. The more Walker, Patton, Holmes and Lilley gel, the better we'll be. It's up to the squad what we achieve this year. A tricky game up at Newcastle will tell us if this is another false dawn or not.

| Great second half display we played the webbed fingers brigade off the park. I wasn’t that confident at half time but we looked really good I thought.

| What a second half that was.
A shaky start for us / an expected fast start for the Cougars targeting Butler at centre and they would have expected us to lose our shape but thankfully this time we stuck to a game plan and proved too much for them. (Although they were depleted)
Forwards carried it strongly in that second half and built the platform for the backs to link up well. As it went on you could see it especially Appo’s try parting the defence. They didn’t want any of him charging on by that point. Blackmore powering over in the corner earlier too and calling the Cougar defence weak too.
No excuses today as we had a strong side out minus Lawrence and Arundel and Keighley had some missing but if we can keep them fit and hit some consistency we can stay in that mix of playoff teams.
A rare win at one of these events. A collectors item
