| Got the win despite two injuries and two in the sin bin. Lilley made a big difference. Thought Doyle was our best forward he was everywhere.
The two Leeds lads fitted in well. Tindall took his try well and O'Connor worked v hard.
We're a much better side in defence with Crossley and Walker off the field IMO. Our line speed is quicker and we're tighter around the ruck.

| Best game to watch so far this season. Usual sticky patches and my was going half a crown, sixpence, dustbin lid in the ladt 5 mins. Much better attitude and effort all round.

| Hard fought win in the end. Thought the game wasn’t great in general.
Thought Millar looked great coming out of yardage. Forwards worked hard. Tindall looked great and O’Connor got through a lot of defensive work and his line speed was great as well compared to the rest.
Much needed win. Can’t see is troubling Leigh a week on Monday.

| I must have been watching a different game today because I thought we were poor. We never really got into any real flow but we managed to bag the points. I felt that we had 3 or 4 opportunities to kill off the game but individual errors and poor game management kept Batley in it. One positive was our defensive effort in the final 10 minutes. The Bulldogs struggled to get out of their own half which made a DG impossible and pressured them into making some off the cuff plays that didn't come off. Considering we played a quarter of the game with only 12 men and had 2 subs remaining in the second half I'll take an ugly win like that.
Millar and Lilley the MOTM for me. The Leeds lads did well as well. Hopefully we can hang on to them for a little while.
On a side note, how bad is the track outside the pitch looking. Its the worse I've seen it.

| What was the attendance figure? Nice sunny day against decent opposition and the ground looked really sp and the atmosphere awful. It really is a depressing dump that we need to leave in the past. The options are admittedly limited I know.

| Our best spells were when our fatties were off the field. When they're on the line speed is slower (because they are) and the ruck defence is slower (because they are).

Agree 100%
Neither starting props deserve their shirts at the minute for me.

| That's interesting, I thought they played big minutes and Walker made plenty of metres. With 2 sinbinnings, a couple of injuries they put a shift in.
I've noticed when Walker leads the defensive line, the others don't go with him. George and Scurr speeded us up and O'Connor, Butler and Doyle is head and shoulders the best back 3 we've seen this year. Their 9 was a good player.
Good win all said.

| I thought we moved up more slowly with Walker and Crossley on the field and when they're both defending at marker or around the ruck they move like two giant oil tankers. I'd try and avoid having them both on at the same time.
Agree about the backrow - Doyle's fitness and workrate puts the other part time players to shame.

Crossley definitely is rooted to spot as is Murphy.
I don't know what the long term situation is with Butler but maybe going DR with Leeds will see us get O'Connor or Mustpaha to a greater extent and move B.Evans to starting prop. Scott looks suited to prop, maybe. Is Wallace injured?
Why did we start the season with so few genuine back row options and such an obvious lack of workrate/pace in the pack? It stood out a mile.

Sunny but bloody freezing.
If they don’t sort out the shambolic queues / ticket system then the crowds will get worse. We arrived at 14:30 and were only in the ground by 14:55. In the end, we were let through one of the big gates with someone doing 5 bar gates on a scrap of paper. I know we’re not SL but it’s just embarrassing.
In terms of performance, we had the opportunity to put the game to bed in the 2nd half but unfortunately we dropped the ball over the line and then looked sluggish for a big chunk of the 2nd half (after a great 10 mins straight after HT).

| Is no-one else asking why we've borrowed a shed load of carriageway dividers from the M62 and dropped them down either side of the pitch?????
Didn't know if I was on a motorway, in a construction site or at a stadium yesterday....

Well they have more brum brum events planned (that's the collective term) so maybe its to give the pitch some form of protection from them veering across it?

| At least the bog has gone from the Southbank end (for the moment) the track does look horrendous though. Walking onto the pitch on wooden pallets is looks awful too. Hopefully this can get sorted asap as there is no alternative.

| I suspect that we won't see much improvement until the weather gets drier. Until then we have to put up with naff looking solutions to getting across the quagmire. Or, just thinking on my head, we get someone with a brittle ankle willing to sign for the Bulls. When they break it on the mud, we claim Millions in compo from Startrax insurance and hey presto Wembley of the North.
