| Thanks for letting us know Mick, my missus in Leyte giving me earache to find this out. Bulls got a nice little following there now through her, they even now in the Philippines have a National side, they beat Malta a while ago and the womens team play in the Australian (?) Womens league in Sydney now, so it is spreading a bit now.

| Quote: HamsterChops "Because if you lose in the playoff final, you then face whoever finishes bottom of the Championship Shield for the last place in the Championship.
But as was said previously, lose in the semi and there's no second chance.'"
I think the idea is, it is the team that would have been relegated.
At the moment, it is Rochdale or possibly Swinton. They are on 10 points each, Swinton have a 62 pts better PD
But, Swinton are away at Batley and Rochdale are away at Sheffield. Batley seem likely to put a big score on Swinton so it could be close.
Hopefully (very) it won't be relevant to us but I doubt there's much chicken counting going on round here

Even more hopefully, I believe the venue for the game against Rochdale (or whoever) is down to a coin toss.
If we win the toss of the coin, we don't get home advantage.
Because that there circus has already been booked in, before the RFL and others came up with this plan.
Really don't want to be going down that route....

Staygate roundabout will be pretty much a no-go area for the next three Sundays, so anybody coming from the M62 will find Cleckheaton Road (A63icon_cool.gif a better bet than the M606. Visitors from Oldham and potentially Doncaster or Workington, please take note.

| Bulls have said they already have plans in place if we win the toss and play the game at home.

I haven't seen a lot of League 1 this year, but I've seen a bit of Championship. And even though they're at the bottom of the table, I can't see Swinton or Rochdale losing to the third best team in League 1 (which they effectively will be when two teams have already been promoted). Yes there is a "third chance" effectively, but I think it's a very slim one. The playoffs IMO are the only realistic way the remaining 4 teams are going up.
That said, if someone did beat Rochdale/Swinton in that game, ignoring the stupid goalpost moving, you could certainly say that team will have earned their promotion by beating a team who are (arguably) significantly better than them.

| Whitehaven d1cked Rochdale 38 - Nil in the Challenge Cup back in April.
Given that Whitehaven failed to make the play-offs I think any League 1 team going that route will definitely fancy their chances...

| 19 man squad: Good to see Egodo back. Disappointing no Bustin though.
He has to choose either Mcnally or Pickersgill. For the love fo god don't put one on the bench. Surely he's learned from the Workington game.

| No Bustin? He looked pretty good last week despite him looking a bit too heavy.

Too heavy? He backed up a break and scored a 30 yard try what more do you want?
But yeah very concerned to not see his name there, arguably our best prop this season. Very consistent and a very low error count as well.

Can't say I agree with that, tbh.
The biggest bugbear in league 1 is the difference in quality between the top half dozen, who are pretty much already bottom half of championship level, and the bottom half dozen who, well, definitely aren't. The very bottom championship clubs would most definitely be in very serious danger, imo and probably wouldn't even be favourites for mine, even at home.
