Thought the young lads stood up for themselves well, not afraid to get stuck in when the aggro started.

I thought the young lads really did us proud today. Magrin skittled a few a few times. We played a fairly basic gameplay, entirely understandably, but i think there is a core of good potential there for toovey to work with, the loan or other addtions, hopefully in the pack, will be key to us competing. Correct, in fact it looked to me like the last try in the first half the hooter sounded as the play the ball was happening, wasn't close enough to see exactly but it was very close to being played after the hooter and possibly a couple of our guys on the outside were flat footed as a result, huds scored a couple of well worked tries and deserved the win but we were a lot closer to them than I feared.

I thought it was a very committed performance. Players like Roche, Peltier and Magrin really put themselves about. I thought Roche in particular had a great first half. Peltier was fitter than I expected and must have done a good 65 mins or more.

Obviously lack a little bit of direction in attack but Pryce playing will help there. Defence was good though and they really got stuck into the Giants.

Pleased I went, feeling a little more positive about the season ahead if we can maintain that attitude and desire.

Genuine question here but from initial team sheet that someone put on here, how many that played today have actually signed, lot of suggestion that there were a lot of trialists

I was very heartened by that and I'm very glad I went.

If that spirit can be maintained it will at least be an enjoyable backs against the wall type season rather than a soul destroying one.
