| Does it have to have 'terrace' in the title? What about "The Nick Zisti load of steps"

The Nick Zisti load of (sideways and backwards) steps.

I kept reading that in my Leeds accent which would be "Lee VIT TERRass" and that doesn't work. In Bradford it would be a softer "terusss". I'm gibbering.

| Wow - it's not often that anything in the vernacular Bradford accent sounds "softer", especially after the usual [and in many cases, only] Bradford adjective, where the first syllable is then often stressed [a la Leeds...].

| Leeds is an extremely clipped version of a Yorkshire accent. Much of the warmth associated with the generic Yorkshire way of speaking is absent. Syllables are shortened and fired out in a very firm way. Hence I say Leave it terrace is a hard staccato Lee VIT TERR-ASS, with an over-emphasis on VIT. When I listen to myself on recordings I cringe.
So to me Bradford is in the more warmer rolling vowels family of Yorkshire accents. The exception that proves the rule is the way you say the name of your own City. I pronounce it very literally Bradford or sometimes Bradfud. You appear to say it with a soft 't' and no 'o' as in Bratfd.

| I think today many regional variations are disappearing, to be honest - I guess largely due to dawn til dusk TV and all the video channels! People seem less defined by their accent than previously, except that irritating 'Esstuary' accent which seems to be taking over - even in Bradford! Bradford, btw, I've always pronounced with a clear and strong middle 'd' and no glottal stop, though I confess my 'ford' does come out more like 'fud'.
In my various jobs I've, sort of eschewed the local argot and used English....., largely because I was often dealing with people not from this area and "ey up, ahta goin' on owd lad" wasn't necessarily the best way to address customers [or answer the phone!!] I do lapse amongst family and friends but I guess I sound a bit inbetween the two.

The man should be honoured that I remember him - spelling his name correctly wasn't high on my list of priorities
Note to self: must do better.

| I like the Koncrete stand after Karl Fairbank. He gave up his testimonial because he didn't want to make any money out of the fans. Legend. Naming something after him would be a fitting tribute to him.

| I would hope somebody from pre Super League would be considered. My hero as a young kid was Keith Mumby, no doubt he was everyone else's hero as well. In my opinion Keith is still the best player to of ever played for Bradford
