| I said this game needed a strong referee and that's what we've got so I'm happy. Just hope I still feel that way on Sat evening however! Is this our first game of the season with a video ref?! Can't say I've missed that bit of being in SL!

Not all Trinity supporters are under estimating the Bulls. It should be a tight game and can go either way although the Bulls have a good history beating us.
Personally I'd like both West Yorkshire clubs to be in Super League and the Leigh bubble to burst along with Salfords.

| Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "It's all just an impression, I suppose, but to me, I think we train not to hold the opposition down unduly. Certainly most games we are on the wrong end of this, although it is possibly self-inflicted as you'd theorize that if we played to slow the PTB like most Champ clubs, then we'd get similar leniency. But it's a hard habit to get out of, and if you suddenly have to change from slow PTBs to Sl-stylee fast PTBs when you're not used to it, then that will use a lot of petrol. So in this department i think we have a definite advantage as we are used to jumping off and letting the oppos get on with it.'"
Think that's fair comment FA. On attack, we try to play the ball far quicker than the vast majority of championship teams and generally clear the ruck quicker in defence too, but whilst on attack we can only play the ball as fast as the referee lets us, on defence it's easy to get into the habit of making the ten at the necessary [with championship refs] speed rather than the speed which would be required by a ref Like Thaler. Hence my comment about how we do it in training.

| I'm sure Ben Thaler referees every game as he sees it and makes his decisions on merit.
That said if you were looking for some kind of bias in his officiating then on past performances Wakefield fans would say he tries so hard not to favour Trinity that he often gives debatable decisions to their opposition.
He's the best referee in the competition!

Haha, for what it's worth we always thought the same of Russell Smith! Agree about Thaler though.

Yeah, but if it isn't, let's hope the dodgy calls go our way.

| Well Marc Green's tweet this afternoon has caused near meltdown from mock outrage on the Wakefield board. This is a personal favourite...
Quote: victarmeldrew "Clever bloke that Marc Green , gets the RFL to Buy the ICONIC Odsal and rent him it back on a decent rent , and gets his coach some extra brass as assistant coach to the national side ,'"
What a revelation he's so clever he travelled back in time and impersonated Peter Hood allowing him to negotiate that particular deal with the RFL. Is he a T1000 like in Terminator 2?
Of course we know that the notion that Marc Green is a cyborg made from liquid metal sent back in time to negotiate with the RFL is a ludicrous idea. It was the lease not the ground that RFL bought.
Also not that clever in hindsight as he now has to pay to buy the lease back off RFL and the rent he's paying RFL is higher than the rent RFL are paying Bradford Council. Surely if you are travelling back in time hindsight is obsolete? It's a thing of the past.

| Was a silly tweet from Green. We gain nothing from it apart from it motivating Wakey even more. Green has been one of the few chairman who uses social media, that has actually used it responsibly.

I know they need to get a life don't they.
The replies to it on twitter are better its absolute dynamite.
THe usual "are you going to bother bringing any crowds this year because it'll make a change" comments are out in force. It's the staple for a fan of a club that get's rubbish crowds to trot that line out. It's like when girls sing I will survive at karaoke.

| I don't see anything wrong with his tweet. I am fairly sure Wakey will be glad of a decent crowd, as would we. It's hardly loaded with innuendo.
