| Quote: childofthenorthern "That was the first match that I really thought Ben Evans showed that he could be a very good forward. Previously he's done bits and pieces but yesterday he was consistently good. Thought Scruton showed up really well again and the hit on O'Meley was a joy to watch.'"
TBH Ive thought it for a few weeks, especially when he crashed through against Leeds. He's not the biggest but he's got some strength and aggression and really wants to hurt people, this will stand him in good stead for his career I believe.
Was a cracking game from us last night, the pack really got into Hulls big lads and some some fire in their bellies. I think there is some potential in this side if we can keep them together. I really don't want to be losing Danny Addy, clearly his best position is Loose Forward, he's a dangerous and direct runner and his tackling is good too. Sign him up, 3 years.

| Sign Addy and Donaldson up for next 3 years. Thought Evans stood up too. Langley had a solid game too.

Apart from his two dumb offloads he did yeah. As a senior player he needs to be more composed than that. We still need to keep him though.

| I think it was a great performance from the lads last night. It has been coming for the last few weeks now and it just managed to click on the night, finally! The majority of the team were immense last night, everyone seemed to do their job and did it well
Massive game against Wakey now and hopefully we can get our heads up for it and make a Wakey style surge for the playoffs!
As someone mentioned earlier, the atmosphere was great last night and its sometimes difficult at Odsal to gear ourselves up but we were pretty loud and behind the team for the full 80! We should be like this all the time as it showed how much the lads appreciated it with the team walking around after FT to clap us back...
EDIT : On a side note... I think OK should think about doing more deals on drinks at games in the future... I have never seen as many empty bottles scattered around the terraces as we left We surely made more than usual on the bars which would come in handy! Although I do feel sorry for the cleaners

| It was an excellent performance. They worked really hard for each other in defence, the kicking game was excellent and they stuck to the game plan. Hull seemed to make a lot of metres but most of the time, due to our kicks, they were starting from near their own try line.
Jarrod Sammut is massive for us. We need to sign that guy on a long term deal. He is a great player but also a big character which makes him popular with the fans. He always seems to give 100% as well, like in the 2nd half when Hull were attacking our line and he pounced on a dropped ball to halt their attack. That sort of attitude is infectious and rubs off on the other players. We have missed him and Kearney badly these last few weeks.
I thought Luke Gale had his best game of the season so far. His running and passing was good and his kicks were brilliant. Having him, Sammut, Kearney and Addy on the pitch at the same time made us unpredictable and they all put kicks in at some point. This to me highlights the importance of making sure we retain Addy. Also Donaldson, I was sad to see him left out but now Bateman is injured you'd think he'd be straight back in. Get him signed up and keep a strong squad. They are developing into great players.
Elliot Kear is player of the year for me though. He played another blinder on Friday and has turned into a quality winger. He always looks for work and makes great metres when we're near our own try like, has pace and chases back really well, is excellent when we put up attacking kicks and safe as houses when taking kicks in defence. He supported Purtell brilliantly for his try.
More of the same please Bulls! Think I may go to Wakey in 2 weeks, it could be a cracker. Hate to say it but I hope the Rhinos do us another favour and beat them next week!

Agree about Kear.
The first few games of this season I didn't think he offered much, but he's shown us now just how good he is. I'm looking forward to see him get even better too.
Long term deals for Sammut, Kear, Addy and Donno would keep me happy!

| If Langley is going then it seems silly to let Addy and Donno go too. Playing Addy at 13 will give is another option. I can't remember the last time we had good attacking/kicking options at 1,6,7, and 13.
