But you could be forgiven for mispronunciation if you were kept in a case.

Fortunately Mrs Relic has very good diction and is also far better at spelling than I will ever be; trouble with the vowels and all that.

Ante, to be pedantic, as in before [rather than anti, as in against or opposed to] along with diluvian, as in related to a flood, gives antediluvian or before the flood. Quite a normal sort of word...can't understand what all the fuss is about..
