I've got a new sudoku puzzle book for Saturday and some of them are really hard so I need to concentrate. So I need a bit of peace and quiet.
Also now getting dissed on Twitter. I'm going to start an alternative campaign on twitter called #faithfullyquiet . Please feel free to use that hashtag to give me your ideas for matchday fun. For example knitting, needlework, crosswords, filling out forms for the CSA etc. etc.'"
You fancy filling in my grans take-a-break quizzes she is unable to do them at the minute ?? Lol

| So this was a back handed compliment to the fat dogs at the same time as deliberately trying to get others to bite(hands up like myself) so you can then take the p!ss for missing the joke.
I got a hashtag for you #pointlessthread
If you wanted to compliment the dogs, why not just say it loud and proud.
Moving on... Looking forward to Saturday! I will be in full voice with the dogs and would invite everyone to join in the fun and do our bit to lift the lads! #COYB

| Now we can't even quietly do our sudoku at Odsal without the politically correct brigade getting out their 'elf n safety manuals. For shame, Fat Pigs, for shame. #IStandWithMBBB

| Some of the sponsors in the Coral have complained about the singing. We guests on hospitality are having trouble putting business deals together with the infernal noise.

No point chanting in the stand - we're deafened by the PA. I can't even talk to the bloke in the next seat without screaming at him.

Its all very strange in the stand. The PA is very loud but you still can't understand a word that is said by Steve Bailey.
As for the dogs I'm sick of hearing them, if they want to sing they should join a choir, not keep the rest of us awake through the matches.

I think the fact you can't tell what he's saying probably makes it sound louder than it is. I suspect the sound is concentrated under the roof, plus it bounces around and is echoed causing it to be muffled.
To be honest I worked in bands for years and am well used to PAs in large rooms, but not in the open and being projected into an (almost) enclosed roomlike area such as the stand, so I'm lost as to what the solution might be. To be fair the PA sounds OK on the terrace - it's just the stand.
As for the 'Dogs', well to be honest we can't really hear much in the stand, and anyway, I tend to get get far too caught up in the game to be interested in singing, so it's not really for me. At away games though, standing much nearer, I do find myself singing along with the chorus and it makes for an enjoyable night!

Coincidence? I have played in bands for years and have a slight loss of hearing for my sins. In larger venues some bit of kit is used to help with phasing so that the sound is released slightly later from some of the speakers to compensate for the time it takes to get down the wires I think.
The kids make me stand near the dogs at away games and we all join in with the singing. It often make the atmosphere at away games better for us, long may it continue.

| The best place to hear the noise generated by the Odsal crowd seems to be the gap between the Coral Stand and the main stand. And certainly if you sit in the Coral Stand itself to watch the game, the whole place sounds many decibels higher than ever it does in the main stand. I'm assuming this is because the combination of the side and curved end terrace and the main stand act as some kind of echo chamber, funnelling sound towards the Coral Stand end. Whatever, it's very noticeable.

It's a little known fact Odsal is actually a speaker designed to be heard from outer space!

Well, it's long been known that the sound generated there disappears somewhere - btw, I notice that Gerry Sutcliffe was talking about some cover for the terraces on Boots n All last night.

| Quote: Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza "Depends what sort of an atmosphere you like. I used to like the civilised less rowdy atmosphere at Odsal. I used to be able to stand there with a pint or a coffee reading the programme or sometimes I could read a sunday supplement out of one of the papers. I once filled out a couple of forms whilst sat down on the pop side. I can't do that now and it's a shame.
People singing and making banners and stuff it's like sunday school. At Huddersfield I was shocked at peoples behaviour to be honest. Fully grown adults singing all the way through the match it's crazy. What's wrong with a simple round of applause after a decent passage of play?'"
you are a party pooper. some fans make the best of a bad time for your club
