Well some decision will have to be made before [itoo[/i long, and it may well be that talks are on-going, though my impression was that there were very mixed views - amongst fans at least, about that. For my money Mick is doing ok in trying circumstances, and if we though he was the answer before last season then there's no reason to believe that things have changed, so yes, get him signed.

Given the state of the team when he took over what more could be expected of him?

I would be looking at where we are after the Salford away game as we will have played a few more B teams away, and played Hull as well, if we are still in the play off places thats got to be good progress from last year that we want more of.

Not sure how true it is, but i've heard Bradford are not offering Jason Crookes a new deal, and he will be signing for Hull FC, but he wanted to stay at Bradford.

Did you hear that from a regular attender at the KC? I only ask because some of them seem to feel that every player worth having is gagging to sign on the dotted to play for them and, imo they are prone to exaggeration.

I'd be surprised if Bradford didn't offer Crookes a new deal. That's not to say another club won't make him an offer the Bulls can't match, but I'd be surprised if they didn't make him any offer at all. Also it looks like he's now a first choice player at Bradford (fully deserved), so I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to stay. I sincerely hope that we're starting to see a set of young players coming through who want to play and be successful at Bradford specifically, it certainly looks that way.

So, we offered him a two year deal when he couldn't get in the side even when we were poop. But we don't offer him a deal when he's established himself in the team and is scoring tries regularly

It's a sign we're improving when we are seeing constant rumours being started about other clubs signing our players IMO.

Someone at the club told me Crookes will be a Hull player next season. I'm willing to put money on it.

No-one has mentioned it that I have seen but Crookes' attempt to prevent Saints' last try was phenomenal covering.

It was, he busted a gut to get over there from his side of the field.

Crookes has been awesome this year, not just for his tries, but the way he returns the ball and his defence. Its brilliant to see him chase wingers on the opposite side of the field to him if they make a break.

Great covering to catch Wellens in the 1st half too.
