| Can't please all the people all the time. Personally i wasn't too keen on the new shirts at first. But there grew on me and i purchased the home one this season. I have seen more replica shirts this year than any other i can remember. The purple seemed to sell really well

It was mentioned earlier in year when initial orders had run out that club had sold significantly more shirts, both home and away than they had for a number of years.

| One thing I'd like to see, which would go some way to pleasing most people maybe as far as kit designs is concerned, is for the RFL to establish a heritage round of games, celebrating the rich history of rugby League, like the NFL do on the thanksgiving weekend games.
Each team picks an old famous kit from its history and wears it only for that weekend as a one off for that years special edition heritage shirt, charities could be sponsored in leiu of old companys where appropriate.
We could do it for the Easter weekend games so every team gets to wear it at home at least once over the two games.
This way the "heritage/traditional" shirt is a valid 3rd shirt for the club to produce each year. The problem will be in numbers to produce, so it might need the design released at the start of the season and shirts to be produced on preorders?
Just a thought, certain to never happen, but it would keep me happy at least if it did!

I like the idea of the clubs wearing a heritage shirt for one round. Don't think it would be a massive seller though unless it was the same design year in year out.

| Why don't Kooga come up with 3-4 designs and let the members choose which one to wear.
You could have two traditional and two modern/alternative.
I think Cas did something similar a few years back.

Because they will charge more for this and everyone knows were skint.

Why would they charge more? They will provide the club with more that one drawing, all the club needs to do is put an earlier deadline on these preliminary designs and put out a poll.
You would however risk people not buying one if their favorite didn't get picked.

| YAWN!
This year's shirt is excellent and the sales figures seem to back up that it is popular. Genius idea from the OP and those who seem to be in agreement to bring back an antiquated design that few people even care for anymore; that's guaranteed to sell loads and generate masses of revenue for the club...
Add to that the idea of keeping kits for several seasons so that after year 1 your revenue stream from shirt sales flatlines and you've got a truely excellent business model there.
The reason why the likes of Hull FC keep their kit "traditional" is, if I remember rightly, that they tried a different design in the not too distant past and it was loathed by the fans and didn't sell. So they now play it safe with their designs. However, it doesn't take much to notice that these here modern Bulls shirt designs DO actually sell; just open your eyes on a matchday.
Or perhaps the handful of miserable sods who are caught in the past should just keep whinging about it, I'm sure that'll change everything.

I like that idea, i believe they do something similar in the NRL too?

| This thread is a bit laughable really.
Kooga is a professional company that design sportswear all the time - basically, they know what they are doing. They aren't going to design shirts that people don't want to buy, as that would be commercial suicide. So we can be sure with whatever they come up with for 2012 will be what they believe, in their professional judgement, will sell the best. That means more money for the club!
If people don't like an individual design, then that's simply a subjective opinion. It doesn't mean anything in the overall commercial reality of what Kooga do

| Quality and class are always understated. For example Bentley Motor Cars, Trickers footwear, Barbour clothing etc. I rest my case.

When we first got Kooga shirts the manufacturing and cloth quality was superb, I can't truthfully say that about the more recent offerings though.

Without wishing to cause offence, it looks and feels cheap and tacky for the masses who probably don't care what they look like.
