Well it's only right to question if they would cope in a better league. No doubt both would but to what extent is up for question till either go there. Plus i'd rather not listen to the Sky commentators.

Always thought Danny Mcguire should have gone down. At 22 he got 39 tries in a season, but whilst being hyped, i don't remember the anywhere near the same hype as tomkins.

I'm massively on the fence with this one, simply because I don't want Wigan to lose such a talented player. I'm sure he would do well in the NRL, just how well I don't know. The only way we'll know is if he goes. Part of me does wonder if he gets hyped up so much because he's at Wigan, therefore naturally he gets compared to a young Edwards etc?

I think any good youngster at Wigan gets more hype than most because it's Wigan, pretty much the biggest club in SL. Obviously it's an insult to say Tomkins is just a good youngster but you get my point. He would be a stand out at any club in SL, though it's always easier to look better in the best club in the comp. I'd be interested to see how he'd get on if Wigan struggled ( anything like that seems way off mind ).

Never really liked Edwards and his time at the Bulls never helped that opinion.

Anyway, i can't be bothered talking about him as every other person does anyway and i'm not that interested. Just do it for England/ Great Britain and i'll happily say he is a legend.

Sam is already one of the best Wigan have had. You cant even compare him to any past players. If you put sam in the team many years ago, He'd score trys even easier. It's sad that O'loughlin doesnt get more praise. Even with the likes of sam to choose from, Sean would be the first player in any team for me.

This the Sam Tomkins appreciation thread and not one for wigan fans to buff up half decent players.

Much as it pains me to say it, Tomkins is far better as an attacking player than Edwards ever was. In fact I'm struggling to remember a GB player of the last 30 years with his abilities (Shaun Irwin excepted). The way he cut through some of the defence was freakish. He's a tough little bugger as well. There, I'm out of the closet.

I love watching Tomkins play. Really good player. Some people are forgetting that he's already lined up against the Aussies and didn't look the slightest bit out of place and in fact the Aussies even pointed him out as a danger man for us.

Another season under his belt and masses more confidence I can't wait to see him running at them this year.

Sam Tomkins is the best player in the super league by a country mile. He has improved so much this season its unbeliveable. He is well on his way to be named a Wigan legend even at such a young age. He knows every trick in the book, and has a great rugby brain. Hopefully we see some of his performances this season in a England Shirt.

At last, a "rugby league" fan, and not a "I hate Tomkins because he plays for Wigan"

As good as Tomkins is, Robbie Paul was twice as good before his injuries.
