maybe im not the booty everyone thought'"
Fair enough, difficult to keep track of all these "lets have a clearout" threads.

| i probably started a few of them
if we have space on the quota, and i know nobody knows,i would get a quality prop or quality ball playing loose forward
i know we have had a couple of false dawns in last couple of year, but at last we will have wingers with pace, quality centres(from the little bit i have seen of them on premier sports, massive improvement on what we have had for a few year)two exciting half backs, pack with a bit of size,ie burgess, elima, scruton(needs to improve a bit) plus others, not looking too bad

the club have signed 2 NRL centres on 2 and 3 year contracts. they are going to be reserves????? It is not rumour, it is logic. get used to it, I am sure Platt and Sykes have, and they will respond accordingly.

not true at all! merely speculation and gossip mongering! i could see it possibly happening to sykes if he doesnt get any game time come next season but def not platt as he is contracted until 2013
leave room for horror injuries like this season and both platt and sykes could get ample game time in 2012

| whether it is true or not is irrelevant, it is a fact that Platt and Sykes are going to have to play really well to be first choice and they do not have to be told that, they can work that one out themselves. But if they are up for it is great for us as competition for places has been limited by injuries this season to the extent that Whitehead played centre several times and shows why Potter has a liking for players that can cover several positions. and if whoever is first choice gets injured, theres a replacement all fired up to keep hold of that place, and the squad works as it should do to provide a more consistent and committed level of performance, not the roller coaster that we have had enough of this season.
So I hope they do get plenty of game time, and not because of injuries but because they have lifted to a higher level of performance.

| Quote: Roofaldo "Well, the club may have sat down with both players and explained that they're now both way down the pecking order in terms of playing and if they want to look at getting a new club they can.
I'm not sure, but does a mutual termination agreement mean the club won't have to pay the full money owed but rather just the money given as the pay off to the player?'"
I'd guess a mutual termination would apply only if they secured another contract elsewhere. Maybe, if their new contract was for less money than they were earning at the Bulls they would most likely be in a position to ask the Bulls to make up the difference.
Given that the amount in question would probably be (in contract terms) relatively modest, the club might well prefer to pay this, even though it would count on the cap, rather than have a player they don't really want on the books for another season.

| Hope this isnt true I think both players still have a role at the club particularly Platt who shows commitment game after game.

| Whilst it seems unusual, Connors reaction seems unusual and makes me think its true. He has denied rumours before saying they are rubbish, but here he has said its between the players and potter...
either player would be a good signing for teams such as quins, widnes or wakey etc and could probably get more ££ than they can at the bulls

| Given both players are under contract for the next 2 years, I doubt the club will be looking to release them as we all know that wouldn't be of benefit due to their salary still counting on our cap and leaving us 2 players down without the money to replace them.
However, given the signings of Lulia and Purtell on long deals it may be that the club will sit down with Platt and Sykes and tell them that they're reserve players who won't be getting first team game time unless there's significant injuries and if they're wanting to play first team rugby that they are free to discuss moves with other clubs.
But, I'm still not sure that either will be leaving
