| It looked to me as though he was going to unlodge the ball, but as soon as tomkins hit the deck, you knew it was going to be a red, always is with Ganson!
Very very unlucky today Bulls, best iv seen Bradford play for a long time, the result didnt go your way but still well done

| Quote: Mick Gledhill "My friend over in the Popular side above the tunnel rung me at half time to say that Tomkins had been smirking and winking at the Bulls supporters stood near the tunnel mate, so they maybe some truth in that.'"
He was out cold before he hit the ground. The Bradford fans who were calling him a cheat should be ashamed of themselves. He was clearly unconscious. The fact he didn’t come back on despite Bradford rocking Wigan says a lot.
It was a deserved red for Raynor, but should be SOS.

Tbf it was hard to tell from the popular terrace. Not justifying it, but It wasn't easy to see what had happened. If it had been any other player it would have probably been different, but Tomkins has a reputation for milking penalties, conning officials etc. (I know, that wasn't the case today)

I would indeed
A few years back when Scruton was sent off against Saints for a dangerous tackle I called it before Ganson even blew the whistle. Sometimes you own players do silly things, whether intentional or not, but you have to accept it and get on with things. As I said to you in commentary anyway, It made the Bulls play a compact defence meaning Wigan had to go around you and you didnt have those stupid gaping holes between the wingers, centres and 2nd rowers. I think thats the way forward for the Bulls, Compact with room outside. You looked better for it today anyway.

Thats the BBC's words, not Steve Ganson's. As I said, you dont have to be deemed to intentionally attack a player to be sent off. It can be seen as a reckless challenge as Raynor's was today. It was still a high tackle with a clenched fist and worthy of a red card.

| I reckon he'll get a couple of games as it ended up being a pretty bad one, and this will be on the basis of reckless. Many buffoons and trolls are posting it was intentional, as if even a psychopathic lunatic would choose to punch the headm and possibly give away 6 or 8, when he had a fair sight of the ball carrying arm and his best chance was to dilodge the ball when the Bulls would get the ball back.
It is true, though, that he missed a lot of the game, so I wouldn't rule out sending off sufficient.
If they charge him with an intentional attack to the head (they won't) then he'll easily be found not guilty.
The BBC have not been told that by Ganson, and he would be out of order in speaking to them so the report is bollox.

I don’t think it’s possible to fake how Tomkins landed. Natural instinct would see your hands coming up in front of you to take the impact. Even if you couldn’t see his dead eyes as he laid on the floor on the big screen, the way Tomkins slid along the ground head first would suggest he wasn’t milking it.

| The problem I have is that he went in with a closed fist. If Raynor went in with an open grab to get under/turn Sam T then maybe no knockout and no red.

From where I stood it wasn't clear he slid along the floor though, it was after the video replay though.
What I saw was Tomkins running, Raynor comes across, Tomkins hit the deck. I expected try given, but instead there were loads of players running in. That's when I turned to look at the screen. It was a few seconds before the screen started playing it, and then the boos had already started.

Agree with the above in parts mate.
Didn't you tell me that it was Roby who spotted the foul play by Raynor and not Ganson?

Fair enough, and initially understandable, but after the lengthy treatment the chants of cheat as Tomkins walked past was poor form to say the least.

| Joel Tomkins makes me laugh when he comes running in thinking he's ten men. Elima would absolutley smash him.

Nope the game had restarted by then. I think he also got a boo and another round of cheat as he came back out to sit on the bench at the start of the second half.

| Reckless challenge (more than careless) probably little or no intent. Sending off sufficient.
