| One of Elima's tries looked to be from a forward pass to me, so while I agree that Leeds got away with a fair amount of forward passes I won't be getting a stiffy on like some on here.
The weak goal line defence was more the issue to let the McShane, JJB and Buderus tries in.

And this from a Saints fan ! Leeds do indeed play this way but so do Saints.

Ours wasn't much better!!!
What made me laugh was Stevo & Eddie raving about Lynch's try when is was basically just a p!ss poor defensive effort!

| Or indeed watch the whole game...
Every national press report of the game says that the pass to JJB was forward. I don't think anyone is claiming all the others.
It is hard to believe the touch judge didn't spot it.

| the problem is (and I know it is hard to say this considering they try was in the first half) but had the jjb try not been given then it would have meant 4 less points for Leeds just before half time and we would have had the ball back rather than Leeds having the ball back from kick off, giving us the opportunity to push leeds further back (we would have had a 20m restart I imagine) and possibly force an error. Nobody can say whether it would have meant a Bulls win because there was far too long left. I wouldn't mind if it was every now and again that this happens, but there is always 1 very poor decision against us in a Leeds match and it pretty much always ends up in a Leeds try. The biggest kick in the teeth was that the try went to the video referee and everyone had to stand there and watch how blatantly obvious the forward pass was knowing nothing could be done.
Aside from this I thought there was possibly 1 more suspicious pass that led to one of the two Leeds tries just after the break, but can't be sure so am not too bothered about that.
I am bothered about our fitness levels and stamina though. It worries me that playing at a high intensity (or not at times) seems to tire us out sufficiently to render us ineffective for parts of each half. You would expect them to last until at least half time, but we just don't seem to have the stamina to play for a whole half nevermind a whole game.

| undoubtedly these decisions were crucial and yes they weren't the only strange decisions. we (bulls) conced points just before the break and in the last ten mins regularly-something is wrong-it's obvious that herbert's kicking game isnt good enough-AND the news about kearney is a DISASTER

| I'll admit I've been a straw clutcher in the past, but come on.
The JJB one was forward. If it wasn't given Leeds would still probably have one. Leeds Bradford games are getting predictable nowadays, we start well, Leeds gradually get better and then they kill us off late on.
Still a good game though, but even when we go in front against Leeds you can never feel confident that they won't get back in it.

Really? I thought it was a pish poor game with very low attacking standards. Leeds were poor, Bradford were very poor.
The JJB try was from a forward pass but the others were fine. The standard of officiating the games when Alibert is involved is beyond shocking. The Leuluai made up knock on was the pick of the night with the Ah Van 'held, no drop-out penalty to Bulls' came in a close second. Leeds could have thrown it American football style forward and Alibert nor the touch judges would have battered an eyelid.

Momentum rule my dear. It's been made up to explain all the forward passes on Sky. It's impossible to rule on in slow motion so therefore forward passes don't exist.

They are predictable because Leeds are just a side with much better quality than us. The difference in speed between the two sides is shocking. 1 win in god knows how many years is just poor. It can be said though that in those years Leeds have had pretty much all the 50/50 calls go their way. Well the match deciding ones anyway.
Pretty depressing.

| Just a thought, but what if the RL Bosses took a leaf out of the NFL book and instigated a form of "Coaches call" like they have in the NFL games. Maybe 3 calls per match for each coach (only on TV though, maybe we don't have the camera's to cover the rest of the games) and if it was a forwards pass that led to a try, the opposing coach could call for a review and if proved correct, the try could be wiped clean, and the game restarted from a penalty to the defending side. Works well for the Yanks and we ARE the sport in Britain that seems to be the most innovative with new things...Just a thought..I await the tirade of "were not the NFL"

We've had more than our fair share of arguments on here but i can probably agree with you here.
I thought it was a good game, but i've seen us serve up complete $hite rugby for the past month, so anything near a half decent performance would look good to me.
Leeds deserved it. Over the first 20 we were best, but it's an 80 minute game, and Leeds certainly knew that more than us. As you've said, some confusing decisions from the officials, but nothing game changing. JJB's try fwd pass = YES, rest of them = fair from my view.

I also think, its the way to do with what angle the camera are positioned at.
