Maybe if City end up moving to Odsal the Council can put us a roof over the popular side?'"
Yes the guy said something about if they stay for the next 2 years the club will be to far in debt and so no Bradford City as far he was concerned and he wont allow that to happen so a move is a possibility

I couldn't care less if they went bust again for a 3rd/4th time.'"
What a pathetic statement that lacks both accuracy and thought.
No wonder we Bradfordians reluctantly look up at the likes of Hull and Wigan nowadays.
Personally, I don't like Leeds United or Leeds Rhinos but I would certainly care if they went under. I would care if any club in any sport went under.
Back to intellectual discussion. I believe City are indeed using the Bulls as a bargaining chip but only because they have to. The plan on the pitch has gone horribly wrong and the club is suffering for it. Having to pay an approximate £1.2m figure before the season starts is not a sustainable plan for a club in the fourth tier. Mark Lawn tried his hand at getting the Bulls down at Valley Parade, a move I would have backed had money been spent to make it a home for both clubs, and when that failed he approached Gibb regarding a renegotiation of the rent. Now I believe this is his final option, a bluff almost, because the money has run out. Whether this is a bluff or not, I do believe that Bradford City FC will cease to exist if the club continues like this, however whether Lawn's estimate of within the next 24 months is correct I do not know. Either a renegotiation of the rent is made on a progressive basis (i.e. the rent varies depending on what league City are in) or City move to Odsal which would require an administration period, although admittedly I'm not certain of that. Either way, some sort of deal whether that be renegotiating the rent, moving to Odsal or a change of ownership at Bradford City is needed to secure its future. The most likely of which will probably be a renegotiation of the rent so that Gibb still has his pension fund secure and City can hopefully have less of a ball and chain and move forward because of it.
Regarding the move to Odsal. Some wouldn't back it in the same way many Bulls fans wouldn't back a move to VP. But either way, in my opinion, the future for both clubs has to lie in a ground share. Who knows, City moving to Odsal could bring about significant improvements such as a roof at Odsal.

| Bradford council could sell the land at northern view and Odsal to private developers and with the cash fund a new stadium on the never to happen Westfield site at Broadway for both City and the bulls to share. Its a win win for everyone! I'd bet tesco would bite the councils hand off if such an arrangement could be made! They'd even build the stadium!

| Or in typical Bradford style, demolish both stadia and then not build a replacement.

Pretty sure FA regs don't allow fans to even have a view of the pitch when buying alcoholic beverages... and that discourages drunken behaviour at football for sure rl It seems to be a bit of an annual event.

| City are fighting for their lives. One thing that I have heard though from City fans is the question of whether the current board have been looking hard enough for outside investment? I don't know. im certainly not a City fan but two successful sports teams would be beneficial to the City of Bradford as a whole. Not sure what the way forward is for both clubs but i certainly don't begrudge them using the Bulls and Odsal as a bargaining chip.
Seems to be enough negative press about the City anyway (anyone heard that doylum Pickles' comments today?) without infighting between sports fans in Bradford.

At that rate he should hopefully explode around 2016.

That's actually so accurate, it's quite depressing.

| More important than the City chat:
"Meanwhile, Hood confirmed the Bulls are currently involved in talks with overseas stars Heath L’Estrange and Brett Kearney over potential new deals."

| I don't think the City fan base is ever really going to be happy with moving to Odsal, there's just many memories tied up in Valley Parade. I'm not really a City fan (although I guess they are 'my team') but I was there on the day of the fire in 1985, and fully appreciate the attachment to the site.
And I'm pretty sure that many Bulls fans aren't going to want to abandon Odsal for Valley Parade. Partly its memories and the tradition, and partly the unsuitability of the Valley Parade location and surroundings. Even though it would be far more convenient for me personally, I would still rather stay at our historic home rather than 'move in' with City.
Surely, given the 'issues' with both grounds, the obvious thing would be leave BOTH sites and start again (like Hull, Huddersfield, Wigan) on a fresh site with a purpose-built 20K seated stadium. Somewhere near the M606 would be an ideal location for transport links.
Of course it would need a fully committed, visionary and energetic local authority to grab hold of this and drive things forward. And that's where the thing starts to hit the buffers

It would be great, if only for regularly bringing people into the city centre, but there just isn't the space there. It's a big hole but I'm not sure it's big enough.

They could flatten Little Germany & put car parking there? I've never forgiven them for the war you know.
