| "There was no silver lining to Gold Coast's first win of the year with five-eighth Greg Bird accepting a one week ban for striking Orford in Saturday night's golden point win over the Raiders."
Greg Bird just went up in my estimation.

Canberra veteran Matt Orford has been granted a stay of execution with the badly out of form playmaker given another chance to save his immediate NRL career on Saturday night.
Hopelessly off the pace in his three games since returning from injury and a stint in Super League, Orford will line up in the No.7 jersey against Penrith at Centrebet Stadium looking to revive his and the Raiders' slumping campaign.
Canberra coach David Furner had been under pressure to dump the 30-year-old to the club's feeder side in the Queensland Cup, with rookie Sam Williams continuing to star in the Toyota Cup after a strong NRL debut in round one.
That 40-12 victory remains Canberra's only win of 2011, with some critics suggesting Orford may never make it back to the NRL if he finds himself dumped from the top grade.
Orford's season reached its lowest ebb when he knocked on at a scrum in the dying stages of the game against Gold Coast, his error allowing the Titans to snatch a dramatic golden point win.
While he declined to comment on Orford's position, Furner was more forthcoming on the injury drama surrounding gun fullback Josh Dugan, who has been diagnosed with a nerve injury in his calf that is expected to keep him out for three weeks.

| It would be a delicious irony if the only place he could get first grade employment was SL. I might even pay an entrance fee at Odsal for that one.

You're not kidding. Things are getting that desperate I've even had to make great mates with Gledhill so he can get me in the press box rather than pay.

| Why would we be pleased that the lying mercenary has had another stinker and the Raider fans are all on his back?
Oh that's right, because he's a lying mercenary who screwed our club over

| Well if that's the case get him back here. He was quality and we should be big enough to swallow our pride and get him in.
Herbert would be class allowed to play at Stand off and just create. Mr ox to organise with Kearney at full back we'd be a much better team.
I know Mr Ox was home sick and I can understand that but given that this might be his only chance to play first grade rugby league football he might have a change of heart. Plus we now have the power and could get him for less dosh. Even if it's only for a year it's a good idea.

| Why would we want him again?
He put us throught all sorts of sh**,
took us to court,
left it very late to actually leave so we had to rush to sign another halfback,
I very much doubt the injury was as bad as the club said it was, he just couldent be bothered because he missed his mummy. Hes a complete doorknob

What's better watching a quality half back pairing or sulking like a baby?

Quality half back? Maybe. Professional? Not a chance.
