| Quote: tigertot "To get the right angle & decision. At first I thought it was a dead cert try. It must have been at least 10 showings before I changed my mind. Not that I am against a time limit on decisions. But then there would be instances of Sky showing replays which subsequently indicate a wrong decision. Cue more hysteria.'"
The same angle was replayed probably 5 or 6 times and slowed and reversed. Not to mention a few other angles thrown in for good measure so I stand by my comment that the decision was without any doubt. Could Silverwood have said without doubt that BJB didn't brush the ball with his arm a split second before Chev came in?
I can guarantee we will see much more obvious knock ons in video ref decisions this year that will lead to 'benefit of doubt' being flashed up on the big screen.
But anyway it's gone now.. time to look forward to the next game. Should be a bumper crowd at Odsal.. cannot wait!

You're not seriously suggesting it came off his leg are you?'"
Did I say that? I am just responding to someone who said it was "obvious" that Walker knocked on. No it was not obvious, it took 20 viewings, and still there was some doubt.
What was obvious was Webb's knock on near his own try line...

| FACT: Both teams were terribull (pardon the pun...). If either had faced a good side yesterday they would have been hammered. Leeds looked like a team playing with no leader or direction and their kicking game was shocking. They relied on individual brilliance from the likes of Webb and Burrow, which is alright if you are coasting with an 18 point lead (oops). The Bulls were as limited as you'd expect. Kearneys' kicking game was fantastic and embarrassed the Rhinos too often. The young lad in the second row had a superb game for the Bulls; man of the match by a mile.
Come back Peacock and Maguire asap.

Care to explain and justify that comment?

| I think that one of Mick Potters main concerns re the Walker "knock on" would be why, when the Leeds winger had come in to make the tackle on Walker didn't he pass to his unmarked winger rather than trying to put a kick in for him?

| We can blame match officials all day long but the reality for me is that once again we dont have the killer instinct to put the game to bed. Why Andy Lynch is passing silly offloads when we need to retain possession is any ones guess. We need to develop a match winning culture because as things stand now its one disappointment after another.

| We lost because we went away from the game plan and started giving penalties away and making daft errors. For 60mins we looked comfortable. Once we let Leeds get a roll on we lost our composure.

| The breath of fresh air for me was seeing a natural stand off organising bossing and throwing passes around! Been a long time since we have seen that and hopefully Sundays game was something to build on. The big let down for me was Lynch trying to force passes, he is usually mr reliable and also Scruton was not up to his standards yesterday! Massive plus from Whitehead though hopefully more of that from him this year!!!

It seemed to me that we tired significantly in the last 20 mins and that contributed to the mistakes and penalties. For the first competitive game of the season on a full size pitch, in an energy sapping environment, we put in a very big effort early in the game. Our kick chase was the best I've seen for years.
But we paid a price for that and the two injuries later in the game. It became a case of ever decreasing circles, tiredness causing mistakes which led to us losing possesion, which led us becoming more tired, which led...

Could not have put it any better.
Had it not been for that, whatever the officials did or did not do would almost certainly not have affected the result.

So everyone keeps saying. So what? He can reclaim the ball by knocking it forward then?
I need someone to draw me a picture to explain.

| Shows how much it's a 17 man game nowadays and also how much work Langley gets through. That said the penalties given away by Sibbit were when he was fresh on the field, so no excuses for that.
