Aye, and Eddie is hinting at it too. And, as we all know:

Yes. I guess it probably is just you.

| Orford went home when it got cold!!
He got injured in May and even allowing for poor Bradford summers it was a damned sight warmer than when he arrived!!

| I would say 'Thank you Matt' for the difference he made when he played for us, single handedly turning games around and motivating the rest of the team.
I am truely sorry that it didn't work out between us and him and I largely wish him well for the future. I realise that not all career moves work out and often it takes considerable courage to admit you are wrong.
However, I can't help but feel cheated about the manner of his departure. Surely he must have known how this situation was going to play out either before he left or just after he got back to Oz. If he had singalled his intent to the club at that point then we could have negotiated an amicable settlement leaving him free to talk to other clubs. As it was we saw a media circus with rumour and speculation running rife.
I presume he kept quiet to the club to ensure we continued to pay him but at best this looks exceedingly cheap. I am sure that there are plently of people who mark time in their current job whilst looking for the job that they want, but these people are probably not contracturally bound not to seek alternative employment without gaining permission from their current employer.
I still say 'thanks for the memorys' but with gritted teeth

| Apart from 20 minutes against Wigan, can anyone think of any other game he was great in of the 14 games he played ?

Leeds away, first half. Still wish he went for 1 when we were under the sticks instead of Lynch going for it!

28029_1671444168.jpg Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_28029.jpg |

| I'm surprised with the positive feedback the guy is receiving over this.
Therefore I would like to say... A big thank you Matt for playing just a handful of games, stringing along the club and it's fans for over 6 months whilst drawing on your enormous wage packet!!!
I for one would not have been as annoyed had he been honourable in May and asked for the termination then, hence saving the club a whole load of money!!!
The guy might be regarded a legend in Australia but he has shown that he has no honour. IMO he is no legend, he is a first rate waster!!!
On another note, if Orford had left earlier would genuine legend Steve Menzies be still at the club???

Or a bloke who would do what 99% of other people who were honest, would do.
Or does that not fit the RAB mantra?

| No because hurt himself, cried and asked to go home so his mummy could look after him.
That's what crybabies do.

Or in the real world, thought Bradford was a hole and went back to Oz.
Clever bloke.

Would they?
I say thats bollox.
I say a large proportion of people, having entered into a contractual commitment for a period of time, would consider themselves both honour-bound to see the contract through, and not wishing to admit failure by running away.
And, funnily enough, that is precisely what I did, in a not dissimilar situation when I went to take up a two-year contract in the antipodes. I hated it at first - like Orford, I went from one winter to another. But I did not run away. I did not renege on a contract I had freely entered into. I gritted my teeth, stuck to it, made myself find ways of turning it round, and after a few months there came to very much enjoy it and realise I had made the right decision.
So if I could do that, on a contract worth a fraction of Orford's why the hell could not he?
Pious? Not at all. Been there; done that. Qualified by experience to offer comment. You?
