| Quote: Nothus "Well I asked Connor about all this on twitter and he reckons there is method in the madness, so for now I will give the decision makers (Potter) the benefit of the doubt.
I'm hoping we've already filled the quota spot he will be vacating and have just chosen not to announce the signing yet. Save the announcements of any big name signings until AFTER next season's season tickets have gone on sale
i think you are prob right as heard we had been talking to some aussie centres plus a few other players and potter has a good track record for bringing in the right players

| I had reached the conclusion myself some time ago that we might have to lose Menzies to strengthen some weaker area. However, there are rumblings in some other quarters that we have signed Michael Crocker pending borders clearance. I think we'd be unlikely to get said clearance, and would prefer Menzies anyway.

| Gutted. Both for the fans and Menzies.
He wanted a new deal, he's one of our best players (if not the best) and rarely do you find a player who will play with such pride, passion and commitment and put his heart into everything he does in the shirt. It's going to have to be one hell of a player coming in to make me think this is the right decision - certainly not Chris Flannery.
Thanks for everything Beaver, I feel privileged to have seen a legend such as Steve play for my club, but even at 37 I feel he could do a better job than most players we could sign to replace him. You'll be missed on and off the field Beaver, that's for sure!

Menzies' heavily pregnant wife Suyin has already arrived home for a Down Under delivery, expected in a fortnight. The 36-year-old marvel will return to Bradford straight after witnessing the birth to play the Bulls' final match.'"

I wouldn't expect that much, it would have to be a huge contract to tempt any player with a chance of an Origin or Aus shirt over here.

I'd rather have Watmough tbh, but they would want more than what Menzies is on to give up an Australia jersey.

| One would assume that Elima is to be his replacement.
Elima + decent half/centre is better for the club than Menzies, however brilliant he is individually.
Seems a shame we have to lose Beaver and keep Hall - he owes us a big year next time round.

Bo11ocks!
Maybe he's going straight after it
If not, lets hope alot of fans travel to Wigan to give him the best possible send-off (or the club could change their minds and offer him 1 year)

Agree with all of that, but we'll still miss Menzies imo.
Hall definitely needs to step up to the plate next year.

| In terms of letting Beaver go to play against us for someone else, how gutting will that be, the comparisons with the massive blunder to absurdly let Morrison go are obvious.
My other pet hobby horse is my belief that Menzies will go on to be a real top coach, and I had been hoping against hope that he could start that journey at Odsal. Potter and Menzies sounds like some combination to me. Personally, I am gutted.
If I try to think this through dispassionately, I come to the conclusion that whilst nothing has been said, this can ONLY be to allow us to sign a top centre or halfback from Aus. Because nothing else makes sense to me, I really don't see how we could justify letting Menzies go far ANY other reason. And so that's what I'm putting my money on.
And I am glad we seem to be persisting with hall, as I and others have said many times, he owes us a big season, and he is capable of giving us a big season.
