| Quote: Asim "I don't recall many incidents of football or rugby teams having kits designed by fans, for reasons Wigan Bull mentioned.
'"
I know Cas ran a competition last year, and they have their kit produced by Puma, who are a lot bigger than Kooga, Sheffield Wednesday also listened to fans views on their current home kit, and ran a vote for the away kit, again made by Puma.
Quote: Asim "Re
Kooga must not be paying attention to the market then, because in RL, traditional designs are more popular than some of their futuristic designs, see Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Hull (2010 an exception).
In football traditional designs are also popular, you only have to look at the current Umbro range, simple and traditional designs, all popular with fans. Nike also have a selection of traditional designs out this year. Puma's traditional Sheffield Wednesday shirt is one of our best selling shirts ever, people want a shirt that people will see and associate with the club straight away.

| Totally agree. Your kit designs are fantastic and though the Wigan Bull - Stuart dialogue is great, one thing that is ducked is why the refusal to contemplate some of the away kits designs that have been suggested - RAB hoops was clearly very popular on here, who are the people that bought this year's red with silver bananas effort that would have turned their noses up at RAB hoops?
I know that one off kits don't sell well, but we're not talking about just a retro shirt here, rather an away kit with retro elements.

| Quote: Asim "In the late 80's early 90's City held a competition in the T&A to actually design the kit, the winning entry was a diamond effort, which might have been fashionable at the time! The lad who won it was a friend's brother.
The company involved was a very small one though, City were probably their only major client - the bigger companies usually have stock templates that are simply tweaked for each club they provide kit for, so there is probably less chance of something unique being manufactured.'"
Was this when we were at thorpe?
I think I remember that!

Yep, just looked it up - the kit was used from 1991-93, the lad in my class was Andy but I can't remember his surname or the name of his brother (who designed the kit).
Sadly I thought it was great at the time!!

| The whole shirt conversation annoys me. It seems we release one every year, even the other year when they said it'd be every 2 years.

the away shirt has always been changed annually as its a key source of income for club. Plan was for home shirt to only be changed every two years iirc. 08/09 we had the same. 07 was centenary year so was an exception. Cant remember if we had same for 05/06 seasons. I'd suspect if we do bring out a new home one next year then its because this years effort has been pretty unpopular and we havent shifted anywhere like as many as usual ( seems backed up by fact shop are selling off remaining stocks).

20201.jpg "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league." - Graham Lowe (1995):20201.jpg |

| Quote: chpntpsr "They have got to be proposed kits, and we'll chose one of them as away, would have thought that the club would have a mainly white home shirt.
Why the club doesn't look on here, I've produced many kits on here that the fans like, and look a lot better than the gash kits kooga are producing.'"
Have you sent your designs to the club? Why not try contacting them and telling them they've received a lot of attention on here. A supporter designed kit might be worth a shot, it would need some selling to Kooga who would presumably see it as undermining their design role, but if it could be spun in some way - a £1 from every shirt to the Bulls community foundation for example, they might get on board as it could be good publicity for Kooga to support something along these lines. Or perhaps they'd make a limited run for the Magic weekend and the team could wear it as a one off with proceeds from shop sales (at a supplement say £50 each) going towards the community foundation. The NRL clubs do this sort of thing regularly and auction off the players shirts. Something along these lines would only need a few phone calls and a bit of nouse to set up - could get a lot of goodwill and publicity.

| Do you know, it never ceases to amaze me, the fantastic ideas I read on here? The club should really try engaging with the fans more, they really don't know what they are missing out on.

Indeed.
Which is why we're going to try and improve this engagement through BullBuilder.
And to re-iterate - if you think you can offer something, then get involved, however small you think the contribution will be.
