Which in the OP's world was probably illegal, the way he dared to subsidise the coach travel of Warrington fans and yet he didn't give me any brass towards my petrol. Disgrace I tell thee! icon_wink.gif

Quote: Wadski "We still do that for everyone including home fans. Those fans who buy their tickets from the own ticket office prior to a game at the Galpharm pay less than the walk up home fans.'"

Ah I didn't realise you could buy them from your own ticket office for cheaper nowadays. I'm sure when they originally started doing it, you had to buy them from the Galpharm to get them cheaper, but any fans could buy them there (as I remember asking a pal who was passing to pop in and get me my tickets while he was there, to save me a few quid).

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting they were doing anything wrong, just using it as an example of how other clubs have done similar "offers" so that Mr. Illegal in the first post could see it wasn't exactly something new.

What about when our Warrington friend hears about these things they call 'season tickets'? Buying all your match tickets before the season at at reduced price - I hear most clubs do them. He'll be dropping off his perch!

As an end to this thread Bradford have extended this offer to people buying tickets from the rlWarrington Wolvesrl Ticket office.

Well played to your club - showing forward thinking to the away fans as well as the home ones.

Wadski, you seem to be having a seperat debate, nobody has ever had an issue with discounted pre-purchase tickets, which is pretty standard practise.

A few of the Wire fans are acting like drama queens, and the ones who are banging on about it being illegal are probably spotty 16 year olds without a clue.

That said, it is clear that this offer was originally for the Bulls fans (no major issues with that - however feel it would be better if there were different stands to justify it), and there has been pressure for them to change this to include everybody.

I think their intentions were good in the first instance, however well don to them for reacting and realising that this could have had an adverse effect on the away support.

Howdo!

I was only commenting on the individual who made the original post - not the multitude of sensible fans who either took it on the chin or were proactive in getting the offer extended.

I also note he hasn't come back to retract his statement.

I know in football you can not charge different prices to different fans in the same location of the ground.

I'm not sure if this an FA rule or something from the Office of Fair Trading.

You can if it's a discount for "pre-buying" tickets rather than paying on the gate.

Not what I meant. What I was saying was you can charge different prices if someone pre-buys than if they pay on the day. Which is essentially charging a different price for the same stand. I don't think I've ever heard of a different price for the same stand dependant on which team you support, in any sport.

But that is what started this whole griping that is what the Bulls originally planned to do.

It was more expensive to pre-buy from Warrington than it was to pre-buy from Bradford when they were first on sale.

Like I said in my earlier post, had there been a seperate away stand, it would have been easy to justify (although it wouldn't have reduced any whinging!!!)

But the point remains that they were not discriminating against any fans. Sure if the postcode thing had come into play, then yes they would. But the first time I saw the news article, it said nothing about that. Which meant ANYONE could buy them from Odsal stadium and get them for £9. Since they'd be willing to post them out (maybe for a small fee), that meant both Bradford and Warrington fans were eligible for cheap tickets. The only people that would suffer are the Warrington club themselves as they wouldn't get their 10% for selling them at their own ticket office, but it's not as if that would be a huge problem with the chairman being minted.

Big deal made out of nothing, especially now that the Wire ticket office can sell them for that price too.

Still waiting for the OP to come on and apologise too, unless I missed that post.
