No, that one was humour.

| I'd rather have Noble back than Sharpe, McRae, McDermott, Lowes or Millward.
I wonder who the few hats in the ring are. Hopefully an assistant in the NRL, or an ex NRL coach, or a coach about to be sacked from the storm

13554.jpg The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

| Nobby also took a by then injury prone Micky Withers off our books but he did leave Macca with no experienced coaching staff when he nicked Phil Vievers and that made Macca's job a lot harder in the first season!
Nobbys alleged altruism? well he knew he was spending money the Club didn't have. so for all the plusses the minuses stack up as well
An NRL assistant Coach would be a good option, as long as they can raise the bar like Brown and McGuire have done and keep in place the Academy development that is now starting to bear fruit!

| Apologies if someone has already thought of this one, but what about Paul Anderson? Working under a good mentor at Huddersfield and seemed to do ok when temporarily taking charge of the odd game. Has links with the club, probably wouldn't be too expensive..... Main question I suppose would be if he wanted to be a head coach yet and to come back to us.

But in four (?) years time, with our luck, he'd just be getting us into the top four again when the RFL would decide he's the new messiah and nick him from us.

It's been mentioned on the Giants site. I think he'll be a good coach, but not right for us at this time.

Why would Anderson and/or Lowes move to Bradford to be assistant coaches when they are already assistants elsewhere in the league with wealthier clubs?

good point. don't think either are ready to step up to head coach yet so should be ruled out of running imo.

Bigger club, better training facilities, Bradford legends?

I'd agree with Lowes, but Anderson has no real form to speak of, so it's difficult to say he is or isn't ready. If we're gonna go with the "cheap" option, I'd prefer to take a punt on Anderson than to take Lowes, McRae or Millward.

If those were the only candidates then I think most people would agree that Nobby would be the ONLY choice!
I would hope we can cast our net a little further afield though. I am pretty sure that there are other coaches out there more suited to the Bulls current situation.

Where does this notion that Brown was an assistant coach come from? As far as I'm aware he started as one the youngest first grade coaches in the NRL in 2003 (for the Dragons) and was replaced by Wayne Bennet for the 2009 season, i.e. 6 years as coach of the Dragons!

Spot on. He was head coach at St. George, not an assistant.

I hope we do aswell, but it depends on the funding. An up and coming Aussie coach would almost certainly want a bigger bonus for relocation etc. Noble, McRae, Lowes etc would all be within commutable distance of the club .
McRae would actually be the worst choice imo. Too old and his methods are out of date. Salford very rarely play quality attacking rugby.
