| Deacs has been a brilliant player for our Club. He has been at the forefront of most of our success and I've lost count of the number of times his goal kicking has rescued a game. Immensly brave for a relatively small guy I think that over the last couple of seasons he has been targetted by the opposition and been subject to several vicious attacks off the ball; not"late tackles" but vicious attacks. He always came back though. Many thanks for fantastic memories Paul.

29955.jpg If I'd have wanted glory I would have followed Man Utd.
Football is a game where men spend 90 minutes pretending to be in pain and Rugby League is a game where men spend 80 minutes pretending not to be in pain.

| The man has put his body on the line for the cause for us and deserves a rest. Good luck Paul and I hope to see you back home as part of the ccoaching team at some time.

| as a few have said its the right time for deacs to go. his performance have been dropping off from his own high standards for a few years now. He managed to raise hi game for the run in last year and leaves us with some good lst memories but another year would have seen him tarnish his record imo by trying to play one last season as first choice hb. a backup role at wigan is perfect for him. all the best paul and thanks for the memories.

Do not wait too long - Tigertit has been the person repsonsible for stalking SuperDeacs over many years & I blame HIM for Deacon leaving to join Wigan.

It would be churlish & disrespectful of me to turn this thread into an argument of Deacon's talents. I'm quite happy to do that elsewhere. He has been a great club man & professional.

| Deacs' has been a legend when he first hit the scene you knew he was something special and the poor lad has had more smacks than most scrum halfs and he didn't have the best of seasons but at least he's left on a little high with a great performance at Hull and the kick at Valley Parade to win it against Wigan but how many times has he won us a game with his kicking. He deserves a fantastic reception when he returns and nobody booing. You may be at Wigan but you'll always be a Bull, true legend!

What an absolutely pathetic response You have no case in regards to Deacon's talents - look at the record books ffs
Great club man & professional - well thanks for stating the obvious but compare HIM to YOU & its a pity that you cannot be classed as a great clubman. Try & get to a game sometimes matey.

Hull FC Fan here - not a world beater Paul Deacon but 80 mins on the field in Super League he was a credit to your team and any Club in Super League would have had him as a goal kicker - one of the best ever - I dont know how many points he scored for you lot but I would guess it was a fair few. Hope he keeps fit at Wigan

| No appologies for transferering this from a much prior thread to this one that is more appropriate
A lot will now be said about Deac's career with the Bulls but my over-riding memory was the fans confidence we had in his kicking. It surely put the frighteners on opposition and gave great confidence to his team mates.
Maybe someone could add to previuos years stats for Deacs. Here is what I know
2003 158 attempts 80% success
2004 154 attempts 79% success
2005 188 attempts 75% success
2006 132 attempts 76% success
2007 118 attempts 83% success
2008 71 attempts 85% success
2009 112 attempts 80% success
7 year average of 80%...Awesome!
Anyone recall, as I do, games where his kicking won us the game?
