| I really hope Burgess doesn't go. I fear how much we will miss him.

| Wasn't the best performance of our winning streak but we did more than enough to get the result. We have a few things to tighten up on before Hull though. I thought our right side looked exposed a few times and we need to work harder to stop some of the offloads.
I was a bit worried about the injury to Halley, he is one player we could do with playing in the crucial match at Hull. If it is a hamstring it would be a gamble to play him again in less than a weeks time. We will need 17 fit players to get the result at Hull which I feel will be a close game. They may well have had a poor year too but they won't want to finish on a loss in front of their home crowd. Let's hope the Bulls are fired up and switched on for the full 80.
Great reception for Robbie and I'm sure the 'run with the Bulls' tune made him blush!

| Entertaining game...although we tried to be too clever a few times and coughed up possession as a result. A better team would have caned us for that, although doubt we would have played that game against a better side so likley its academic. But there was some really slick play today, and I suspect a few playoff sides will be seriously hoping we still trip up at the last hurdle.
This new forward we seem to have signed a few weeks ago, name of Langley, is proving a cracking buy - we could have done with him earlier in the season! Although the work has always been there. Sykes showed why he is a zillion percent better at 6 than Jeffries - or anyone else we have, for that matter - when he had to revert to full back.
All round good workman-like performance with some flashes of something rather more than that, including from the scapegoat group. Salford did not do themselves any favours though with the messing around at the PTB - although we seemed to get some decisions for a change too. What was all that handbags in the scrum near the ends all about? Just hope Halley's dead leg (assuming that's what it is) doesn't rule him out for next week.
Well done Cas. Once again everything has gone our way this weekend. All the permutations we have agonised over on here these last few weeks have now whittled down to just the one - we beat Hull, Stains beat Cats, we get 8th. Simples!
Good to finish at Odsal for 2009 ona a high and with a flourish, and with a good send off for those who are leaving - whether announced yet or not.

| The only thing that worried me was our right side defence. And Jeffries back at 6.

| I was pleased when Langley got MOM. He's been quite justifiably caned on here for his performances this year, but he looked much better today both in defence and attack. The way he waltzed through for his second try was class.
To be honest, we were comfortable winners today, and the result wasn't in doubt from our opening 12 point burst onwards. But I'd like to see us being more ruthless and really putting Salford to the sword, whereas we seemed to over-complicate and end up letting them off the hook. We also let in a couple of soft tries at the end.
But a win is what was required, and we did that pretty easily really. I just don't think that the top teams will b quaking in their boots at the thought of playing us unless we can take a step up from today
Anyone know if Halley was kept off just a precaution? Hopefully just a tweak

| Nothing too flash tonight, but very enjoyable all the same.
Langley was excellent today and Nero had yet another blinder. Halley looked to be limping pretty badly at the end, hope he is ok for Hull, but it didn't look good. Well played, who would have thought we would be here about 5 weeks ago?

Must admit, I didn't think Worrincy of all people would catch him and then bundle him into touch!

Quote: dead leg "Halley went off with a "dead leg" 23 minutes into the match and played no further part, although he is expected to play at Hull.
"We did not want to risk him," said McNamara. "We got off to a flying start and had a reasonable lead so we sat him on the sidelines for the rest of the game but he should be alright for next week."'"

Craven Dave had already said the same in his piece a bit earlier, which is why I said "dead leg" in an earlier post. Assumed it must have been mentioned in the press conference. But felt happier once someone other than Craven had reported it!

Likewise, at the end Menzies held Burgess's arm up and waved it as if he was waving goodbye!!!!!'"
Nero also had hid kids there so probably for morro, BJ maybe Semi, not Nero.
Menzies was pointing out a banner to Sam, who then waved at the people holding it, I have no idea what was on it though. Didint look like a guy playing his last game for us to me.

Saves me some writing that, that pretty much sums up my thoughts, cheers
Good game, great to see the Bulls do well. Id just add that it was also good to see Godwins surge in form continue, I thought he was excellent again today.
The hand bags was because of the Salford No 8 putting his hand on Lynchs shoulder as the front row was ready to pack down, Lynch knocked his hand off his shoulder, No 8 put it back, etc, etc, Lynch shoved him pretty hard and then the No 8 retailiated and the handbags flew. After that was when he made himself a target for the flying Sam!
