| Quote: Spannerz "If you look what I said maybe things would be clearer. I didn't say they should trawl through everything. They could have their own small section to look at and aswer occasionally. The thing is I think you are right and they don't have the time for the fans and don't want to interact with them.'"
They made time - plenty of time - to interact with a Supporters' Association in the past. Unfortunately, all but a few of the fans seemed uninterested in becoming part of that Association, which limited and eventually pretty well annulled its effectiveness.
In a business, and especially now in the public sector, you don't negotiate and discuss directly with individual employees - that would be impracticable. You do it through the employees' representatives - usually the union reps.
I'd suggest that the answer to the perceived (and yes, I'd say to an extent real) interaction issue is staring people in the face, if apathy could be overcome? Just for once?
Maybe folk will now better understand some of why I get hot under the collar on this subject?

Shouldn't that be directed at a good number of the players?

Yes in all probability including,Richards, St Hillaire, Clawson, Solomona, Newton, Deacon, Worincey, Sheriffe, Platt and on some occasions all of the rest of the squad. Dick Turpin probably wasn't as bad as most of these...

| I thought there was a good piece on recruitment by Mr Hood in the programme at the weekend. Its a pity they didn'tmake more of it on the web.

Maybe on a thread about renewing season tickets you might need to have one before commenting
I'll be renewing because it's the cheapest way to see my team.

If the club is to survive and prosper it needs to be supported in terms of not only cheering them on (which on looking at most of your posts you dont seem keen on doing) but also by the investment made by people turning up each week and adding to the clubs finances. So Yes is the answer to your question I believe to be a true fan or "supporter" of the club you do have to attend as many games as you can and spend some dosh!
And though posting on here is open to everyone it sometimes irks me that many of the most negative contributers in terms of viewpoints are the ones who "support" the club least financially.

| I usually miss a couple of home matches due to holidays. I've usually bought a season ticket to guarantee tickets for finals, rather than for any economic reason. Dont think that will be aproblem any time soon!
The club must be desparate for reasonably healthy season ticket sales though. Cashflow must be dire at the moment. The cash turnstiles have looked deserted at recent games.

| I suspect Jimmy might be part of the season ticket drive, presuming the T&A is on the money.

I buy the home and away shirts each season for myself and my wife direct from the club (who actually charge a bit more than I can get them elsewhere) and the kids get a shirt each (one gets a home the other an away - hope we get a third kit next season ) and we are both "members" of the Big One Lottery also.
Given that the shirts (some printed too) are an average of say £50 for the adults and £30 for the kids, that is £260 notes to the club through the shop each season (assuming of course they bring out a new top each year). That £260 I assume is more than the cost of a season ticket alone so I would say that I was doing all I can.
Add 2 x Lottery memberships and an indirect support of the club through my Sky Sports Subs that I only keep for the RL then I would say I was doing ok in supporting the club financially.
All this does not include the occasional gifts and whatnot through the club shop for birthdays/Christmas etc.
Sadly I cannot attend very many games but I do my best.

Pfft. I go whenever I'm offered hospitality.
