| No one can defend tonights performance and even more depressingly it looks like we will be playing next week without a hooker- (what are our academy hookers like?)
We have had a poor start to the season even taking our disruption into account.
Despite the above we should stick with the current coach. What is the point in sacking him? If our performances do not improve then we have time to recruit the right man rather than panic signing that we may live to regret.

Personally I like Sykes but in an ideal world would play him at full back as he's a very good broken field runner and a decent one on one tackler. Also the worst facet of his game is probably holding the defensive line from centre.
Just trying to be positive and realistic as Nero is more or of a concern and a great example of why McNamara is losing the fans - poor all 2008 at second row so let's give him Shontayne's shirt!!

| I honestly think we've got a good enough side for a top 4 finish. The prob is the way we are playing. Running the wrong lines, standing far too deep on the 2nd phase etc etc. We need someone to change the way players are told to play. We have some class who know how to play the game, but for some reason they are bing told to do it wrong!
I bet the side could coach itself (deacon, newton, the beaver, morrison). Would it be any worse??

Balls forgot that. It looked bad for Wagga and newton was carrying his arm rather carefully too.
Oh well, excuses sorted for next week already. No lynch, no Solo, no Tupou, no Langley, no Godwin, no Newton, excellent.

| Me being a member of the Positive Tendancy would just like to point out that we have 1 more point from our first three games than either Wigan or Warrington managed.
I'm also going to back Macca. I'm off to William Hill's in the morning to put a tenner on him being the first SL Coach to be sacked this season (if you don't count Lowes' demotion).
Maybe if each member of the Bulls board do the same, they could perhaps afford to pay him off?
Then who could we replace him with.....................................?
Feka knows!!!

I fear that this is the case? What would we gain by sacking him? Handing the reins over to his number 2? Oh my God I fear....

I agree he's poor defensively. But from what I've seen his one on one defence is poor too. Hock had a field day with him tonight.

We don't have a second phase. As we don't seem to bother with players running flat as dummy runners, the line running in from 30-40 metres deep is actually the first phase. Depressingly.

I think Hock had a field day generally.
He is still ugly though.

I agree about Hock on him tonight but really I meant straight broken field one on one of the sort that fullbacks make when the line's been broken. He doesn't seem to be able to play his defence as part of the group around him - breaks out of the line, doesn't drift as part of a unit, etc.

| Look at our coaching set up its a joke...
McNamara - No experiance what so ever and has nobody to turn to.
Richards - Should be coaching in the Pennine League.
Lee St.Hilaire - Who ? never even made it at super league level as a player.

| Quote: mystic eddie "Defend this garbage.
The guy should just walk and save us the money.
Utter shambles.'"
Nothing to defend tonight ME (the team didnt so Im not going to bother) we were bad, even with the mitigating circumstances. So you wont get any argument from me defending that tonight, and thats from someone who spend a far bit of time, effort and cash to get over to see that in person. Im feeling pretty cr@p about the situation it has to be said.
However, I'm not going to change my generally positive tendancies because of one more bad result. Ask me again after a few more. but with each performance like that its harder to defend the situation. And as a side thought, how many of these super kids we've signed up for "the Future" are backs? especially half backs? if its none or not many then I dont see the point in waiting.
I will say this however, that we wont save any money - as he wont walk and it would cost us sacking him in that we'd just have to pay two coaches untill the end of the season. And with McNamaras contract up at the end of the year anyway the decision might well be made by the results themselves, I.E. if we carry on losing and showing no improvement the board will not be able to justify offering him a new contract so he will sack himself by default.
So to sum up, I'm still overall positive about my club, but not tonight, not in that performance which was not good enough. I dont think we should sack him tommorrow, but on this evidence he wont get another contract anyway. All too depressing (dont know why I still post ) So Im off out for a curry now and some (many??) beers with my mates and not talk about the Bulls to try and rescue something from the day.

| I said this last season and was ridiculed. A young coach needs experience behind him not inexperience. If we get rid we need an experienced coach and he needs to bring his own assistants. My money is still with Paul Cullen but if there are any Aussies available then we need to get them here ASAP. I won't hold my breath though as we can't snare the best players I doubt we'll have any luck with the Coaches. One out of left field is something already mentioned, Menzies to stand in until we can find a replacement..............
