Anyway good luck I think you will make the play offs.'"

2006 is the last time we won anything by the way and the carnegie 9's doesn;t count as a trophy of any real standard.

Not that that detracts from the fact that we are miles off what we used to be but the Giants are nothing like what you think they are.

Back on topic why are we still insisting on Jefferies at stand off when we can pick the beaver there.

I'd assumed it was because we assumed we were getting Bird? If thats so, then I would have thought thought this needs revisiting now? Beaver looked just about the only creative player on Friday.

Couldn't agree more. If he's good enough to have played there in the Manly side that I've just watched fairly well dominate Leeds then you'd kinda hope he's good enough to displac BJ.

For that matter I'd play Sykes or Morrison there ahead of him.

I'm not sure Menzies is a great long term option for us at stand off but I expect to see him playing there in spells throughout the year.

It is a worry though when Morrison and Menzies look more likely to make a break or put a player through a gap than our halfbacks. We need to have some luck on the injury front where those two are concerned that's for sure.

Anyone heard if we have any new injury worries ahead of the Wigan game?

Yes.

Platt, Sheriffe, Nero, Sykes, Tadulala, Jeffries and Deacon have all been passed fit.

BJ Was very much a confidence player at Wakey, When we dominated a side he could show some real sublime skills but when the pressure was on he would be missing for most part of the game.

Sounds like Leon at Bradford....

To be honest, based on the 3 times I've seen Jeffries play so far this season, I wouldn't even put him in the 19. Morrison, Menzies, Sykes, not bothered who plays there as long as it's not Jeffries. Until he plays a hell of a lot better, he shouldn't be in our team. If he starts to prove himself in the reserves, give him another chance.

Jeffries looks lost and certainly isn't directing play. His core skills don't seem up to it and his supposed pace isn't getting him clear of tackles. On current form he doesn't merit a place in the team.
Can anyone suggest why Sherrife is getting stick after 2 games where he doesn't appear to have done anything wrong?

Hence the approach for Bird, I guess - suggests the club clearly see that too. I guess in fairness the Wakey fans were right when they said at the time that he can be very impressive when the team are on top but missing when under the cosh? Rather like another wannabe stand-off we used to have, even? As I now see someone else has just observed...

If BJ doesn't improve then I guess best option would be Beaver at #6 once we get Lynch and Langley back?

Thats easy. The Negative Tendency, those who have been turned by the Dark Side of the Board, had long-ago decided that most of our new signings were rubbish anyway. So clearly he MUST be rubbish regardless of what actually happens, since they had already determined that he is. See?

HTH?

I think with Sheriffe, it is very difficult to judge one way or the other as he hasn't really had the ball all that much.

I can't say I'm happy with the signing, but as I said before the season, you gotta give someone a chance before writing them off. I don't think it's fair to slate Sheriffe's performances as he can't play well if he never gets the ball. By no means has he done well, but he also hasn't done anything bad as far as I can see, so I would say if anything, reserve judgement on that particular signing for now.
