| Omar's is recommended by Asian guys at work, they either go the Curry mile in town [ Rusholme] or will travel over the hills to Bratfut and always go to Omar's....they tell me to order your food Apna style if you like it hot!! I did, and boy is it hot...great food though.

Apna style eh?
Off to Omars tomorrow. I'll try and remember that. Can someone warn Yorkshire water to get some extra staff in for Monday morning?

| I really don't see the attraction in ridiculously hot curries, I suppose the restaurants don't mind as it's easy money from (usually) those worse for wear.
Personally I like to be able to taste something, rather than have a burning mouth.

For those who are interested in the history of curry I have just finished Curry: A Tale of Cooks and Conquerors by Lizzie Collingham
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0195172418
Incredibly well researched & interesting book. If any of the regulars on here want to borrow it let me know.

The Bulls' conditioner wants it. Apparently, the plan is to stuff Deacon with Apna curry, give him the ball, and place a Portaloo at the other end of the pitch . . .

1589.jpg when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.:1589.jpg |

You'd still have to give him directions. He gets lost very easily - or so I've heard.

| I am returning to the UK for a week or so soon, I think I will have one chance to eat a decent curry while I am there (Trust me, there are NO decent curry houses in Florida!). What would be your suggestion for a one off curry?

But don't go on a busy Friday or Saturday night as the quality isn't as good when the place is rammed.

I agree, but are you on commission or something
Went to Kashmir after the game last night for the first time in a while, Seekh Kebabs as nice as ever, but the curry was terrible - won't be heading back there in a hurry.

The rule for the Kash is dry curries are okay, but the gravy-y curries are generally sloppy n a bit crap.

From my last few visits I'd say everything is a bit crap there - or maybe it's the fact that I'm not always drunk when I make a visit nowadays?
