makes sense from a clu point of view I suppose. club are advising people to reclaim for full value of membership then re-purchase the season ticket from club at new lower price. This has two advantages in that people get the difference in cost back and new club gets the season ticket portion of the money rather than it disappearing into the old club. £20 shop vouchers are just a sweetener as their basicaalyy giving old stock away in shop at moment and wouldnt have thought any of new stock would arrive before 4th feb deadline.

problem comes for those whose card companies either refuse to accept difference between a membership and a season ticket and also the sheer time it could drag out for before you see the refund. For a lot of people they cant afford to effectively shell out for seaon ticket twice even temporarily until card refund comes through.

The email does not say cash only will be honoured.
It says cash only bring in proof of purchase and we will give you a new ticket.

Then says try to get a refund from your credit card provider as the 1863 membership is different to a Season Ticket. The current club is only honouring the season ticket part of the 1863 membership scheme.

OK.Then please tell me where they say that they will honour Season Ticket bought via CC if CC Coy refuse refund. As far as I can see they do not address that situation and are therefore NOT apparently honouring all Season Ticket purchases.

I have to say I can't find it within myself to start criticising the new owners for the way they are handling the situation. They are caught between a rock and a hard place. Lots of us have lost money to the old company, not only on the memberships but with the pre-paid weekly lottery tickets which seem to have gone the same way as the memberships. Given a limited budget I would prefer the money to be spent improving the squad rather than giving me freebies. I realise that we all have different financial constrains but we're all old enough to get on with sorting ourselves out without whinging about it on here.

The other issue to consider is that people who bought with a card could either have or still be able to claim all their money back, and then turn up to Odsal with their original receipt - thus gaining a completely free season ticket?

Not suggesting you'd do that Tommo - but the potential exists for some to do that.

I know its a right old pain but the ideal scenario would be for EVERYONE who bought via card to get their refund, and then go and use the money to be a season ticket - which would actually be cheaper, due to the lower prices. Thus, in theory, people would end up better off!

BBNL offered 1863 membership which included merchandise offers, gifts and discounted prices for exclusive events and supporters are urged to stress this to their credit card provider when claiming a refund . The current club will only be honouring the ticket part of the 1863 membership package

Where does it say they arent honouring the tickets?. The last line as said previous says they will honour the tickets but not the extra benefits which is why they are advising you to claim a refund

I read this as we'll honour your ticket but we still advise you to get a refund as you've paid for something slightly different with BBNL

I admit it's not worded very well, but the above line makes it clear what they mean.
If you paid using a credit card, you need to get a refund and then buy a new season ticket. You do not get a refund AND a free season ticket from the new club!

See I read that as those customers also receive a £20 voucher. I'd expect any get a refund and then buy a new one to be a clear and standalone sentence not be a tag on to a voucher sentence.

They really need a decent copy writer as you rightly point out, it's far too ambiguous.

I have just rung my master card company and sent them the email the club sent me and they have refunded me straight away, they want to see a copy of the receipt the club gave me which i will email tonight

Ticket office today said they are NOT honoring tickets (with or without "benefits"icon_wink.gif bought with credit cards, so their statement that they would is a lie. When the statement was made there were no qualifying conditions placed on it as to the type of payment.

Do I buy a new ST and await a refund from the CC cos. What if they do not pay out for some reason. Can I afford to effectively buy the same ticket twice? and why should I have to?

The office suggested that whilst I am waiting for a refund I can pay on the gate. After paying on gate, £20 in my case, for 4/5 matches, will I have to pay full price for an ST for the rest of the season?

Could they not issue temporary ST for for us until the CC cos decide?

I asked if I would get a replacement ticket if the CC cos decided not to refund.. no answer.
The cc companies have 8 weeks to respond. This is not for a decision.. that takes longer - expect 12 weeks for actual money back.

Oh, and for those of you that have had a CC refund from your bank you might find that this is only temporary until a final decision is made and can be reversed

I have been a regular supporter from pre 1963, seen good and bad administrations, but this is probably most blatant lie I have ever come across.

I can not and will not support yet another administration that I do not trust.

If anything, people who paid by CC are actually [ibetter off[/i than those who paid cash, because you now get a full refund of the old (higher) price and can repurchase the cheaper season ticket. It also sounds like you get £20 to spend in the club shop as well!

The club could not simply honour those who paid by CC on a like for like basis. Differing products, differing prices. I'm sure also that someone out there would have definitely claimed their free season ticket and then claimed a refund from their CC company on top. A sh*tty thing to do but you can bet your life somebody out there would have done it.
