I assumed they were waiting for a final diagnosis and hoping the injury would allow him to still play. No point telling everyone he's got a jaw injury if he's going to play and giving them a target.

| I would think he will only need a couple of games to get fully fit again. This is better news than it could have been as he will be back with hopefully, a fully firing Seijka and Mullaney.

| The T & A are reporting that Gaskell could be out for 8 weeksGaskell was left concussed and was replaced, forcing him to miss last weekend’s win over Dewsbury, and he is expected to be out for up to eight weeks.'"

| As the regular season reaches its climax and we then go into the tasty bit there isn't going to be any place for anything other than a fully fit Gaskell. His jaw, in effect, will be like a big target for any other club seeking an advantage. No way should be looking at rushing him back.

| Our new visitor (who has since disappeared) said Gaskell had had an operation to plate his jaw. As such, he ain't gonna be back in 4 weeks, nor anything like. The Bulls appear to have given information to the disciplinary which I quoted yesterday, clearly saying he would be out for 8 weeks and I doubt they would have exaggerated for effect, but there's no way he should be rushed back anyway after an injury like that.

| Need Mullaney and Seijka to form a half decent partnetship now me thinks, or we look for a loan, whats Sammut doing these days surely we can deregister someone.
Gives him a break to rest his body before the 8's which can only be good for us.

T&a start out saying he's expected to be out for eight then later in article say club aren't giving a figure. Club say at least 4. So I'd guess if we're lucky he could be back for Leigh at earliest or it could be any time after. Need mullaney and sjelka to step up to the plate if ferres is serious about not bringing anyone in.

| Genuinely hope it is only 4 weeks, I want him fit for the Leigh game, both teams going at it with full squads available, that's why we watch the game to see the best lads giving it everything. Wish Gaskell a quick return.

| Should we be safe in 2nd after the next 3 matches I would not be risking Gaskell, or several other players, in the final 3 matches. There is nothing more to be gained by finishing first unless the final SL table becomes completely clear. It would not be a disaster to lose the final 3 matches and play many of the fringe players. I doubt Lowes shares my philosophy. If we arrive at the middle eights with a fit and rested squad then I would be fully accepting of the Halifax, Sheffield and Leigh clubs securing the bragging rights as they beat us in the last 3.

I wouldn't rest them for all 3 as we have a week off after the season finishes before the middles start. Wouldn't want to be going into that first game with some players not playing for a month. But i think we HAVE to rotate the squad for the next 3 games. I would be disappointed if we don't. Think some players have become complacent. Need to freshen things up. Let some players rest some knocks, but also let Davies, Flemming put pressure on their team mates.

| I can't see the tactics changing at this stage. Jimmy has said he'll go with his 'best available' side and that's what I'm expecting. To be honest, I'd be disappointed if we lost the last three games and neither I do I think it would do us any good. Right now we have momentum and imo, we'll need that as much as anything in the big push to come.

| I notice it says Hame Lauaki had to pass a fitness test to play this weekend. with all due respect to Workington if a player considered doubtful to play due to injury passes a test and plays i can't see many changes coming in next few weeks. Can see Samir, Davies & Peterson not getting another game this year

Unfortunately I think you're right. If Jimmy doesn't make changes for the next 3 games, then I think we'll know what line up we're going into the middle 8's with.
I didn't mind us not rotating when we were playing well and winning. For me resting someone when we're playing well can have an adverse of effect. Jimmys motto is play well and you'll keep your place. Which I agree with, keeps everyone motivated.
But we haven't played well for a couple of weeks now (which does happen) and we have an extra Easter period coming up. If we go with the same then Davies etc definitely won't play again.
Problem with that is, say come the super 8's, Sidlow gets injured, Clough gets a suspension and Lauaki starts having poor games, who donee turn to? Tahraouri who hasn't played since April, and has been playing at League 1 standard which won't help us agains SL standard teams of Wakey, Widnes etc. Davies who may not have played a game all year.
I trust Jimmy but this is my main concern right now. One nasty injury in next couple of weeks to Sidlow or Clough could end their season and we have props who aren't getting a lot of rugby.

Of the first team squad we have a decent idea of what is likely to happen with Samir T NathanC DaveP and Adam B. The unanswered question is what has happened / will happen regarding Karl D?
Does anyone know or shall we continue to speculate?
