There will be no takeover, unless a person or persons can acquire more than 50% of the shares.
And if they cannot get all the shares, or at least more than 75%, they'll be as hamstrung as the board post-Caisley has been.
And the board decides who shares can be transferred to.

Unless the takeover is done by way of a pre-pack administration.
Purely from a "devil's advocate" perspective of course, but would it be a total surprise if the money raised though the pledges were used to pay off RBS (clearing the directors' liabilities under the PG's) before the "confidential discussions" resulted in a "preferred bidder" being identified to take the club forward but rid of the shackles of any remaining creditors of the existing company? |
