Whilst it would have been great to have a marquee signing like that, just about every other part of our team would require sterngthening before the back row.

Good signing for Hull, he'll give them a few good years of service without a doubt. He's a class player but not in a position we're lacking quality in if we keep hold of Elima, Whirehead and Bateman.

Ellis, despite his age will add some quality to Hull FC. So long as we tie up all our youngsters who are starting to come through that's fine with me, we don't really need to strengthen our back row. It's a prop we need IMO, especially if we keep Sammut.

It seems any big club, & Hull are potentially a massive club, get that levelled at them when ever they sign a world class player. I've no idea about Hull's finances put they ditched some seemingly expensive players last year. Who knows what will happen with the rest of the squad in the off-season?

The clue is in the sentence from Gentle wherein he says Ellis has signed for Hull despite more lucrative offers elsewhere. Err no he hasn't. Clubs should stop being dishonest and the RFL should be more transparent. In my view good on Hull for bringing corporate $$ into our game via third party image rights and keeping our talents in the game. Instead of complaining every club should be doing the same.
