If this turns out to be true, I wonder if Briggs will be involved in the deal in some way.

How old is Luke Gale?

Season long loan?

To be honest, I've not been massively impressed with Gale from TV games I've seen of Quins. He blew hot in the first few weeks when Quins were doing well, but he's hardly looked like lifting them out of their slump ever since.

Wikiepedia says 23.

He's also a very decent goal kicker, which might possibly factor into the debate about whether we want / need to retain Ah Van

you would think ah van and herbert will be worrying about their places (unless already signed up) if this is true. when will we find out, Roger?

Would hope it's not any sort of permanent swap for Briggs. Gale would give extra options short term but Briggs is better prospect long term IMO. We would still be relying on Jeffries for organising role and he isn't god enough to be first choice.

dont know when it will be announced

interesting to read somewhere leeds are after rangi chase and getting rid of rob burrow, burrow and leon were both at the bulls training ground before this season started, leon was virtually a done deal before he got injured in his only game for saints this season and then catalan came in,and their 5% tax rate certainly played a big part instead of 40% here

I was thinking in terms of ability rather than age.

I was wondering this morning what tax situation in France was. Given it's Leons last big deal you can see why he prefer catalans over is for financial reasons. We'd have to pay significantly over odds to give Leon same cash in his pocket assuming catalans are paying him similar to what's he's on now.

But you said it was "all confirmed now". Who confirmed it to whom? Just curious . . .

I agree about Briggs but disagree about Jeffries. IMO his best position is at Scrum Half where he was playing (very well) when he first came back into the team with Briggs at Stand Off..

Since moving to Stand Off to accomodate Herbert at Scrum Half Jeffries has gone backwards..

Briggs was mainly playing first receiver (ie scrum half) and Jeffries was mainly second (ie stand off)
