think the only one obsessed with that idea was our friend terrymonster ( or whatever hes calling himself that day). every story linking kearney to us has said we wanted him for the halves.
providing he comes back from injury ok then bretts a very good signing and gives us some pace in the halves at last. now we need a decent and at least 1 winger.

Great news this, someone who could be a real threat at 6, I've heard good things about Kearney and what he can do with ball in hand. Should give the opposition something else to think about rather than just bashing Deacon, if Kearney is succesfull at 6 it could also see an improvement in Deacons game.
Sykes' return to the needs some work in preseason however.

| Is there any possibility that we will have Sykes and Kearney as starting half backs next season?

No, I don't think so. Deacon and Kearney at 7 and 6 with Sykes as back up 6.

Sadly that is probably the case but Sykes (IMO) is better in the halves and him and Kearney just sound a better combo to me than persisting with Deacon for another year as a starter.

| He's a talented player and best used at full back.
Very injury prone though.

| Boss Steve McNamara says Brett Kearney is a 'free-spirit type of player' who will play stand-off for the Bulls
What does this mean? Is he a another free love hippy like Macca?
Or he likes lots of free gin on demand?

Well, I've said before I would have liked 2 new halfs, but one potentially excellent new half might bring out better performances in the other?
I think we have to accept that Deacon will be our starting 7 and captain for next year.

Other than the bad injury last year what other injuries has he had?
If it's just one bad injury and he's now fit I'll not be too concerned.

| So this leaves us with one extra overseas space if I'm right!
Reckon we will be having a closer look at some antipodeons with a view to splash the cash after the four nations........

Eric Grothe is looking for a new contract.
He is a winger.
