Joe Tamani was a loan signing from Adalaide Rams. Very much in the build of Inga Tuigamala but not as good.
Played in 1997 IIRC.

Played more in the centres, although he did cover winger in his second spell.

| It's stating the obvious that Big les and TV are 75 metres ahead of anyone else. The only issue is who is in 3rd place. That's tricky, for me it is between Scales and Bai. Marcus Bai was a classy player, and he went pretty well, but we didn't get him at the peak of his career and he wasn't about very long. Jon Scales was the original Ryan Hall, and surprised everyone with what he could do, in the end was a big part of that successful squad, and always busted a gut for us, so Scales it is for me.
Leon Pryce may have played on the wing but he was never a winger. Great talent, but can't vote for him on the wing anymore than I would have picked him there.

| Les by some distance
Then Tevita by some
Toss up between Bai and Tadulala, I choose Semi.

| I suppose the title of "best winger" is somewhat subjective and dependant by which critea they are assessed.
The number of tries, the quality of play, power/pace/guile/enthusiasm, positive effect on his team, destructive effect on the opposition, defensively solid.
To what extent should a great/poor supplying centre have a bearing?
After little thought of all these considerations then, for me, it is unqestionably Leslie that meets most of those critea. No Bulls winger in my memory comes near.
2nd option is almost as clear cut - Tevita Vaikona
Whilst the list misses out Reardon and McEvoy it is still not blessed with outstanding candidates that were wingers. My 3rd vote then to Semi Taduala

| Quote: Exeter Rhino "Mackay and Bai both gave you good service, albeit at the end of their careers. I would have happily kept both on at Leeds.
Scales, Cook and Pratt on the other hand... I suppose they all got to enjoy scoring tries against us, before disappearing into obscurity pretty quickly. Pratt may have been unlucky with injury though IIRC?'"
That's not totally accurate though. Grahame McKay played for Northern (as it would have been then) very early in his career before his brief, late coda, so had two bites of the cherry, so to speak.
Agree about Pratt, he was unlucky, though to some extent it was self inflicted by crash-tackling far bigger blokes than himself and doing it far too often. This wholehearted attitude to playing the game made him the sort of player that fans warm to though. I liked Jon Scales too, he was a big lad and a trier but unfortunately not really very quick. I think Cooky, shall we say, liked the social side as much as the rugby but that notwithstanding he was a decent wing and a superb goalkicker. Bai was a top player, I wish we'd had him when he was younger, but as you say we got him at the very end of his career so wouldn't expect to gather many votes in a poll like this.

Yes, I got the names mixed It was the right player though, Grahame who played twice for us as wing/centre not Brad who was a forward (of course!!) and never played for Leeds anyway

| 1st two no brainers. The best super league winger in big les followed by the second best super league winger in TV. The 3rd is tricky though, I went for Tadulala over Pryce as I never really think of Leon as just a winger, whereas semi scored 30 odd tries in two seasons from the wing in a declining team - he could have been on Tevitas level for us had he been with us a few years earlier I reckon.
Bai and scales were also excellent. I nearly voted for St John Ellis purely on the basis that he was the first bradford player I ever saw attempt a penalty from about the half way line at Odsal, got a good chuckle from the terrace at the time (kick got no-where near IIRC)

| How can you say Nathan macavoy wasn't a winger are you saying Scott Naylor was the winger ??
Either way the pair scored plenty of tries with henry Paulgiving the ball to Naylor from the scrum !

I believe he did, though if there is a qualifying number of games for inclusion he probably wouldn't make the cut.

| Didn't Tefal aka Gerald Cordle play for us in SL?? Must of been 96 ish when he retired/left?
Will always be remembered for 2 things -
1.) Scoring against Wigan in the fog.... did anyone see it?? The game was called off not long after 93/94 ish
2.) The STARE - Watch the credits to Scrumdown and Tefal scores at Sheddingley and walks back eyeballing someone or other!

| I assume the 'tefal' reference is to do with his handling and surely should read 'teflon'?

| Lesley Vainikolo and Tevita Vaikona have been voted as the Bulls best wingers.
Semi Tadulala finished 3rd in the poll and therefore will go forward to the subs vote.
