There was a strange atmosphere in that directors box today, and it was quite obvious that people were avoiding each other.

Re administration: let's see. Maybe after the pressing debts were relieved by the pledge money, someone will feel minded to put in enough to stave that off. We can hope, anyway.

Possibly, but surely the last resort you would hope?

Well it all sounds up in there air now but I'm glad I pledged. That way if it all goes down the crapper I know I did my bit.

Whatever happens the main things is to still have a club, preferably in SL and preferably with the young players we've brought through.

Time will tell.

Didn't see the itv news so apologies if that's what you watched, but if it was Look North they were just reporting what was in the programme, albiet rather unclearly as a lot of outlets have. He hasn't gone anywhere yet. Wonder if League Express et al will have any more info.

I'll stand correction, but I understood the pledge money has already been spent on wages and tax bills

Sorry, but you clearly have no understanding of what you are talking about on that point there.

The pledge money has already been spent.

And, in Administration, the administrator decides what happens to the assets, and who to sell them to and for how much.

Exactly. Caisley may not want to take the gamble that someone else puts in a stronger bid than he to the administrator and ends up with nothing.

Quote: Adeybull "
As for Hood, one of the saddest sights I have seen at Odsal for a while was him sat on the directors' row in the stand, with not a single other person on the whole row. He just seemed to be a total outcast -whether of his own volition or otherwise, I have no idea. '"

Yes that was interesting, he was talking with Bennett at half time, but seemed a very forlorn figure sat on his own. I imagine one of his last acts will be to publish the list of those who have pledged so we can see if any Emmerdale money flowed our way or not...

What disappoints me, I think, was that they said they wouldn't call in the pledge money unless they could secure the remaining £500k. Obviously this was untrue and might have been partly designed to embarrass Caisley away from taking us in to administration to clear up the ownership structure. I fear now administration might be, as M@islebugs has long argued, the only way to get us free of this internal battle that has progressively undermined the club's viability. I'm still glad I pledged, but I think a lot of people have been led up the garden path and pledged believing that was the only way to save the club from admin.

Best case scenario?
Caisley HAS found some investment (perhaps those persons Coulby alluded to in his interview that were 'not willing' to deal with Hood), the EGM ousts Hood & Bennett (if they haven't gone already), the audit he conducts results in a more efficiently run club, we get Noble on board in addition to Potter to take some pressure off Mick's shoulders, the crown debts have already been sorted, administration is avoided, and everyone gets paid in May. Job done!

Another point

If, as it seems, Hood now accepts that he is inevitably going to be ousted, wouldn't the honourable thing be for him to step down right now and avoid the unnecessary EGM?

That way, Caisley and his gang can get on with their 'root and branch' review at the earliest possible date, and implement whatever plans they have (assuming they have some) for the future.

Dragging it all out to an EGM at the end of May doesn't really seem to serve any useful purpose

I'll be very surprised if Hood and Bennett have yet to resign by the time the EGM rolls around, if only to save face.

It was insincere if not dishonest of Hood to even suggest that the second £0.5M had any viable chance of being raised.

I thought that the Pledge had been used to settle the debts as well as pay wages! If we have no debts what is the point of administration? I would hope some investors have been found and we can go forward!
