| Quote: Northern Lad "I think that's great Mick and in general my issue lies not with the team but the coach. I think we're all different but as i said in an earlier post, that game was a watershed for me. Steve's had his time but what we're now seeing is awful, It's time for him to move on a clean brush to go come through and start rebuilding.
Steve said in the T&A that in a strange way he's motivated by the position and the pressure he's under now because it's what being a coach is all about, surely what being a coach is all about is not getting there in the first place.'"
Good post there.
I think the question that Steve Mac needs to answer with his hand on his heart is this "can I turn it around".
He needs to answer it honestly and if it is nothing short of 100% "YES I CAN TURN THIS WHOLE SORRY SITUATION AROUND" then he should do the right thing and leave.

| I would very much like to hear Beaver and Morro's take on it. The honest take, not whatever is spun for the press releases.
If those two - who will have played under excellent coaching staff and will surely have a pretty good idea of what a good and effective coach looks like, as well as being pretty clued-up guys - backed Macca, then I sure would.
If they - being honest - did not, then I'd say it would be a no-brainer.
I doubt we'll ever hear what they really think in public, obviously, although there WAS maybe a hint from Morro about Halley vs Platt last week. The views of those two guys would probably settle this bloody argument once and for all, IMO.
Maybe they have already been asked?

| I did not boo and never have. Whatever reason the booers had for doing so (against players, coaches, club management) it is non-specific and thus ineffective. Contacting the club with the focus of their concerns might be.
There were players who did not deserve critisism, how then should they be included in this sweeping condemnation.
I did stay till the end and was heartened to see many of the players come across to the stand and applaud. This IMO was not to seek absolution or garner self plaudits. They appauded us the supporters.
Whats not to like about this ? Takes a bit of courage.

You must be joking. That's a real four pointer and one that we have an outside chance of winning.

| For the first time ever I went early it was on the hour mark when Chris Hicks strolled in for the try. It was just a spur of the moment thing I could watch any more of the drivel on offer.

Must admit some sympathetic neutrals watching it on TV did say they were surprised I stayed till the end. Guess I just felt it was the right thing to do. Or the dumb thing...?

| I booed in Walkabout in Wigan, it was my tribute to the Wigan fans who watch Wigan home games in there and shout 'forward!' and 'gerrum onside!' at the telly.. and also boo.

I stayed all game too. It took a lot though to stay behind, but good banter with some folks around me and a woman who was close to going kung-fu crazy on people booing made me stay, just for the laugh.

I thought Eddievan was going to go over and deck the guy who was shouting for Macca Out rather unpleasantly in the next block, so that's the real reason I stayed to see that...

Me too.
The free flowing beer did help numb the pain a little mind!
