I usually feel optimistic at the start of the season, probably overly so as I've felt we 'should do OK' for the last three seasons to be honest. I think I've said before that much will depend on injuries (as always, and for all sides) and, of course, that all important bit of luck!

Not sure what else PH could have said though. I suppose he could have said something like the guy who was top man at Ratners, who said something like "our jewellery won't last as long as a prawn sandwich", but that did little for [ihis[/i career prospects, or his company's sales figures, IIRC. In normal circumstances though the chairman [ihas[/i to talk up the product, if he doesn't stand up and say it's good why would anyone buy a ticket? Obviously we're free to make of it what we will.

Not sure about needing another winger, I think I'm more pleased that it looks like we might have some centres (and halves) who will get the ball out to the wing, rather than thinking too much about who's out there to receive the pass. Hope we'll be Ok but it'll come down to the dreaded injuries again, I guess.

On the face of it top eight should be achievable (injuries permitting) but the competition is really hotting up and teams that I would expect to be around us are recruiting well. I see Wakefield have pulled off a great signing today with Isaac John of the New Zealand Warriors. Their squad is really coming together so I can see the race for the eight being even tougher next year.

Harlequins have also made some very good signings, it's going to be a lot tougher this year.

Unless he was supposed to be flying Qantas...

No he said Dudson may be a Wigan player next year. Many people thought he said Koppy but its Dudson !

I thought he said Dudson too. Wigan still got space under the cap then?

Kopczak was best prop on the pitch and it was Dudson they said was going to Wigan

Ah dudson! Well I am relieved! Koppy looked very impressive indeed. did bulls proud especially when nobby said he signed him for bulls as a 16 yr old from Dudley hill

Funnily enough, when he said that in commentary, though I'd worked it out he meant Dudson, he didn't say it in anything like a clear way and I thought anyone only half listening would probably think he meant Koppy.
