| That's interesting. This may refer to some kind of end of year bonus which makes up the full package? However, the issue of the club owing him money was raised months ago so doesn't quite fit in with this.
At the fans forum it was said that Orford and his management were asked for a statement publicly committing to return to Bradford. By not issuing such a statement and the emergence of rumours suggesting Orford was talking to clubs in OZ (which turned out to be true) could the club have withheld payment on grounds of a probable breach? In other words Hood/Duckett/Bennett saw what we all saw and thought keep hold of the money until we see how this pans out. Could the club defend its own breach of contract as a reasonable step to protect ones own interests considering mounting evidence (which Orford refused to refute) that Orford had no intention of honouring the contract?

| My understanding is that there is no way the club breached contract, and that the Unspeakable One had been paid everything he was entitled to and required paying. Certainly up until the point the Unspeakable One confirmed HE wished to break his contract, at least. Time will likely tell if my understanding is correct.

come on FA lets be serious here pal,the club should have been pro-active and not re-active!
don't tell me that the rumours that were doing the rounds in early may everywhere else around the world regarding that orford would not be fullfilling the remainder of his bulls contract, didn't ring any bells in the bulls boardroom?
the saying goes " there's no smoke without fire"
the fact that the bulls seemingly believed orford's apparent promise to honour his contract doesn't wash with me i'm afraid,as the warning bells were there for all to see,if i'm not mistaken here,i seem to recall that these rumours actually went to print around this time as well, but i can't remember where i read it?

| Sorry Jonesy, but as someone who has had discussions with more than one director that included the subject of the Unspeakable One, back into early summer, as well as hearing what was said about the situation at the last fans' forum, I can safely say you are spouting total bollox there.
The scumbag, and more to the point the Sack of Rat Droppings, told the board categorically that he would be coming back. I still have an email from a senior club official, going back to early last June, where (in response to my query) I was told just how clear that had been made.
If you are so clever sunshine, in the face of repeated assurances that all was well from the pair of them, what precisely would YOU have done? In your answer, please detail how you would have avoided being manouevered by the Sack of Rat Droppings into de facto breach of contract yourself, as it seems quite clear to me was what they were hoping migt happen.

Tbh dont think jonesy is missing point with regard to timing of orfords release request at all. He is just choosing to ignore it as it doesnt suit the aims of his points scoring/trolling attempt

these are the 2 articles i was referring to as being similar:
www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/s ... ford_exit/
www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/l ... 6445677.jp
but how the rhinos acted far sooner to obtain the best deal possible for eastwood
whilst the bulls on the other hand dismissed these rumours about orford leaving from as long ago as 29th may 2010!
i know that orford and his agent have continously mislead the club, but surely everyone knew that he was going home?
imo the bulls have proved to have been naive beyond doubt in this instance
on the other hand gh commended eastwoods honesty, but said that if he had mis-lead the club in any way he would have had to have bought his own contract out in order to return home
like him or loathe him,but gh is simply the best in the business at running a successful rugby club in either hemisphere

Are you SERIOUSLY that stupid?
What you've said that, and the stance GH would have taken if he was less than honest, is exactly the stance that the Bulls have taken. And yet the Bulls are naive and GH is the lord and master? I hope for your sake you're on the wind-up, because otherwise you're just contradicting your own argument, in the same post!
Regarding the naivety of believing he was coming back, they had DIRECT communication with Orford. Every time they spoke to him, he said not to believe the papers and that he was coming back. Are they supposed to believe papers over the person himself? Of course not.
You're being very very biased in your viewpoint of this situation. If you're not on the wind-up, I'd recommend giving up now.
IMO both clubs have acted exactly as they should have. Eastwood was honourable and so was met with the same back. Awford wasn't, so has had that reciprocated.

| Jonesy, pack in trolling - you aren't very good at it, and you hardly cut a very convincing figure when you try it. You really ought to stick to doing "sensible" - you are far better at that, and can be quite a useful contributor when you do.

I agree with Adey Jonesy. Just accept that the Bulls are going to introduce the Rhinos to a whole world of pain as we run rampant at the Millenium.
