| When Cha-Lo took over I was sceptical. Neither are particularly wealthy and have a chequered history in business and in RL administration.
If I didn't know any better I'd suspect they're just keeping the club alive on life support for the RFL. The current setup has all the hallmarks of being done on an absolute shoestring. There's no evidence of any strategy, just fire fighting and at the moment the flames are getting higher.
I said I'd judge them on their record. Well up to Easter we were doing ok with some useful use of the loan system. That seems to have gone out of the window now. We don't have much time to rescue things if we're staying up. I'd hoped we'd have planned for this and will have some useful players on board for this weekend.
We're entering the period where we'll know if they're serious or not.

| I wonder if it's deliberate that there's almost no mention at all of the hammering Toulouse gave us on the website or social media?
The twitter doesn't even mention the result, it goes from Colton Roche saying he's looking forward to the game, to advertising the lottery and Sheffield tickets. Not even a mention that the game has actually been played.
Similarly, there's nothing at all listed in the news section of the website. You have to go into the Results section to even see that the game happened.
Perhaps they're trying to pretend it didn't, in the hope it won't put fans off coming to the next game or two?

| Tweet from ShowMeTheMoney agent
Something not right at a championship club giving letters out to their top players saying they don't know if they're to be retained next year?
Pretty obvious its us. Wonder how much longer the academy can survive too.

If it's us it's because:
1. We may be relegated and have to go part time so giving notice.
2. We may be about to do a Gateshead and adopt Salford's entire playing staff along with their owner.
I know which I think is more likely

Well, thinking about it, we probably don't have much choice.
If we are relegated then how can we possibly guarantee any current contracts?

| At the start of the season I'd have predicted losing the last 3 games pretty badly, but with the loanees we got a sign of a brighter future.
It's the complete radio silence from the club on anything except fluff stories that's generating this extreme downer everyone is on, someone at the club must address this very soon with SOME information about what the new owners have discovered after being in charge for over 3 months. While accepting they can't be disclosing their business plans, any statement indicating the options they are looking at should be made. As Paul Walker said about the loss of emotional attachment to the club, I'm in the same boat, haven't seen a game since Sheffield and haven't missed it. It was good to see I wasn't alone in that feeling.

His Second tweet suggested the letter is something we have to do as a club, presumably to allow players to look elsewhere. It may just be a case of as Bullseye said if we're relegated we can't offer a new contract to anyone as we'd be PT so it may just be a formality. Maybe its a more dire situation.

| They wouldn't need to inform them of that as all contracts would be null and void on been relegated..
do you think we are been patched over by Salford next year?
keep the academy and home grown players and bring in their first team for SL?

| Depends on what the letter says. We offered Smith a 2 year contract and Chisholm a deal just 2 weeks a go. What would be the point if we going PT anyway next year. Things won't have changed that much.

| Or here's an idea.
They have been told franchising is set to return so rather than waste money on a FT squad where finishing in the league is irrelevant. They fund a PT team making substantial savings. Become a reasonable championship team boosted by the farcical DR and invest the money in off-field stability to try and get into SL. Widnes were gash on the field and a bang average championship team, but they invested off-field and got into SL that way. Maybe thats the plan...

That wouldn't have been the plan from the outset when they took over though would it?
