I desperately hope you're wrong, but if it came to that, well better that than no club.

Just a different spin on the same numbers, he hardley denies the debts were there, just says that they were being funded by advances and a payment plan (on the VAT)

"Cash offers" and "advanced talks" don't pay bills, the monies have to be in the bank icon_thumb.gif

Claim and counter claim, I guess what he's trying to do is to make it clear what the new BOD is claiming and then try to answer those points. From the outside it's difficult to know who's right and wrong and to be honest part of me doesn't really care, what I do care about is whatever is going on is concluded quickly and professionally instead of dragging the name of the club through the gutter.

The fact that the £250k is being paid in instalments is almost irrelevant. The issue is whether Hood included it in his calculations when he announced that we needed to raise £1m to see out the season.

Similarly did he take into account that the club had already received the £110k from the RFL and obviously wouldn't be receiving that money when it would otherwise have been due?

Paying the any bill in installments is an extremely important factor when bugeting and calculating cashflow.

The Bulls are by no means unique in fighting to stay afloat in these challenging times for all business up and down the land. But one has to despair at the orchestrated sound bites emanating from either side of this historic Club's warring executives.Silence from the board-room is a long sufferance of all Bulls fans everywhere, but when suddenly assaulted with this deluge of rhetoric, I feel that the Club's name is being sullied even further.Diplomacy has flown out the door in this unsavory power struggle and with it our dirty linen is offered for public consumption. To rebuild confidence and attract investors those lime lighters have to respect that the image of Bradford Bulls RLFC is of PRIMARY and PARAMOUNT importance and is of major significance in progressing solutions to a satisfactory conclusion. If anything is needed to create headlines locally or indeed globally,it should be positive, supportive and factual.Above all non incriminating imo. What an insult to the proud history of our Club and with scant regard of its loyal supporters, the words shameful, disdainful and sadness would dominate most observers emotions right now.

This could have all been avoided if they'd been up front about what was owed at the time, rather than asking for money and not wanting to divulge much about why, it's a bit much for Hood to start crowing about leaving a "substantial" amount of money in the bank when that came from the pockets of the RL community.

Then again, did they want this public p*****g contest to be avoided? I'm not sure they did, both "sides" are relishing it as far as I can tell.

Well Panto season as started early, Billy Pearce to play Peter Hood, Brian Rix to play Caisley (why him? cause his trousers were always falling down)

If there are investors or sponsors out there with even a small number of working brain cells then they will take one look at all these unedifying exchanges between our shareholders and promptly close their cheque books.
Both parties claim to have the interests of the club at heart - but putting aside all past actual or alledged mistakes - this continuing conflict really could deliver the last rights to the club.
You might be able to re-write history, or spin it but you certainly cannot change it - the only thing the BoD, the club and maybe even the long suffering fans can do is influence the future

Agree with your thoughts what the investors might think - sad but unfortunately true.

As for history; well it's usually written by the winners - until the revisionists come along. Revisionism is often derided, and the word used as a pejorative, but in truth the original history (the one written by the winners) isn't necessarily an accurate reflection of what went on either.

Not much business, of any kind, is done in the open, Julie. Most of it goes on behind closed doors (or out on the golf course icon_smile.gif ) and well out of the limelight, so I wouldn't expect to hear very much, one way or the other, until things are actually sorted. Even then I wouldn't expect much detail.

That said I get the very distinct impression that there is some 'seeding' going on on the boards; possibly from both sides but certainly from the new board. There seems to be stream of either new, or very irregular, posters coming on to deride any speculation they're not happy with, and to post 'exclusive' news snippets, on which we, apparently, must "just trust them".

I've supported the club for many years, and in all truth I don't give a tinker's cuss who is sitting in the director's box, but I'm losing faith with all of them right now.
