| It is definitely costing the club money. A friend of mine was recently in there (he didn't know about the card problems) and couldn't buy Bash tickets because of it. He ended up being annoyed by the lack of a basic service and just not bothering.
Twice this season I've been at Odsal quite early, and in the past I'd have gone for a wander into the shop to see if anything worth buying. These occasions, I haven't bothered because I knew I didn't have enough cash on me for much more than a couple of pints.
Just two examples and I'm sure there are plenty more.
But as usual, total lack of communication as to what's going on. I know there's more of a feel good factor around the club after the team finally put a performance in, but I personally am still totally disconnected with the club and have no intention of being bothered with any more games until the heirarchy start actually communicating.

| I remember the days when Hood was in charge and we had discount season tickets. The idea was that we would spend loads of our unspent cash in the stadium.
Even if that was the case you couldn't fit in the shop as it was the size of a portacabin so many didn't bother when it was packed on matchdays.
It's a bit bigger now but far too busy to be bothering with on matchdays - the only time when I'm likely to be at Odsal. I bet I'm not alone.
What the club needs is a decent online shop where people can pay by card. There is nothing at the moment.
Meanwhile the club misses out on income. Anyone else still dubious about this bank account?

Absolutely.
Whilst I have never run a business or been involved in the Financial aspects of it, I don't really get why it would take so long to get an account.
I understand why it would be difficult to get an account with an overdraft or any kind of money lending facility when your name is "Bradford Bulls", but just a straight account without that, why would a bank refuse that? Which makes me think they need the lending facility.
Although that is pure and wild speculation on my part, no facts whatsoever.

I've no insider knowledge either but I do know that if you want to buy tickets online you get directed to the RFL e-ticketing site. This would suggest some level of transactions are being done by the RFL. People mentioned having the RFL on receipts paid by card earlier this season.
I too would expect that if you went to a bank and said you wanted a bank account opening in the name of "Bradford Bulls" they would be a little reluctant to help. They'd want to see evidence you had enough money so that they didn't have any worries. We know Chalmers and Lowe aren't wealthy and have histories with HMRC in New Zealand. We know cashflow is likely to be a problem due to low crowds and low income. As a result I suspect we're still without a bank account since which kind of bank would take the risk of allowing us an overdraft?
In a connected matter Toovey's visa hasn't yet come through - when it does we'll know we have a bank account since you can't have one without the other. We were told Toovey's application was in on 10 April. So I assume we had a bank account and VAT number by then. Meanwhile St Helens sack Cunningham and have Holbrook installed properly as coach. Still no visa for Geoff. www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/s ... all_clear/
It tells me there's a hitch somewhere. Now I can't see any issue with Toovey's visa like there was supposedly with Phoenix. Toovey has coached sufficient NRL games to qualify. The only thing that occurs to me is that maybe the application wasn't in or it was but pending a bank account or the bank details we supplied perhaps didn't meet Home Office requirements (e.g. was one guaranteed by someone unconnected to the club).
All this must be connected to the lack of card machine in the shop and lack of online shop. Or at least you can suppose so since nobody up there is bothering to keep us informed.

| You can get a bank account, a card machine is a completely different facility, provided by an independent company who are probably frightened to death to offer us one given the recent history

Might explain why we are no longer accepting card payments. Before it was the RFL taking them but i believe they were holding our ingoings and outgoings until a bank account was sorted. Now we (presumably) have a bank account, they can't process the card payments as it would go into their account, not ours. Or they just think that we now have the bank account set up, we are now on our won.

| We must have a bank account in order to be a sponsor for overseas visas. We're on the list so we do have an account.
I wonder if we have an online shop that accepts card payments is it the same deal? Do we need to have this facility provided by another company? If so it would explain why this isn't sorted.

Would be nice if the owner would comment on it and give people a clue as to what the fudge is going on, rather than coming out with puff pieces about belief winning games and how the fans are great (see website if you don't know what I'm referring to)

| Good communication is key, people feel more valued and therefore they're more likely to support the club, not just by going to games but buying stuff too.
When it's lacking the rumour mill starts, people get pi55ed off and stay away.

If he'd shown the same enthusiasm for Bradford Bulls as he showed for State Of Origin, I could have put up with the rest of his diatribe!

| If not reporting to us every trial and tribulation that they are undoubtedly suffering means that those trials and tribulations are overcome better and faster, then I am quite happy to read puff pieces until we have attained third from bottom position. I am not a shareholder after all - and they are only entitled to get one/four report(s) from the business. Yes we have invested more emotionally than any shareholder ever will, but I would rather the priority was achieving targets than placating a few grumpy old men.
And all he is saying in the puff piece is exactly what a number of posters have commented on in recent weeks, which is the lack of belief once the first score goes against us and the heads start to drop. And of course the converse, last weeks immense belief getting us to within 1 point of the runaway leaders which many posters forecast to be a cricket score against. Thankfully the players believed differently.

| To me it's simple.
You can forget 'company reports' and 'fans investing emotionally', it's meaningless rhetoric in truth. What matters to any entertainment/service business that wants to survive, is that its customers are happy with the service they get. What is true in our case, is that the customers, or at least a large part of them, if we're to believe what is written on here, are clearly not very happy. These customers, by and large, have indicated that they would be more forgiving if the company would pass down a little more information about their plan to supply our entertainment. If indeed there is a definite plan, because at the moment it seems almost as vague as May's brexit plan, or to put it another way, it's a case of, "we don't actually have clue what we're doing, so we'll just bugger on and hope for the best".

| It's funny, I watched every summer bash game at the weekend, and it seemed that at the end of every match, Angela Powers would speak to at least 1 player from each side and both coaches - except for our game where we heard from the KR coach, but nobody from our coaching set up was available for comment - it's as if there is a wall of silence policy running right through the hierarchy at the Bulls!

| I went to Odsal today to buy tickets for Dewsbury. I cycled so had no cash and of course it was cash only. So I didn't bother.
The lady in the shop said the machines had been down for a "couple of days". So more lost revenue today.
