Thought hodgson came from wharfedale rugby union then went back again after left us..scored a fair few tries for wharfedale playing fullback and rebroke his leg again..havent heard of him since then so presume that ended his career..was a bad break he got tho when played for us..was it against paris at home just after we won title at sheffield.

He went to wakefield first, surely? Don't think I'm mixing him up with anyone else?
When we played them the next season, he was kicking goals. I recall he was taking a shot from not that much of an angle, and Sir Bernard looked at him, looked up at the posts, looked back at him and slowly shook his head...and yup - Hodgson missed. Superb!

. . . you'd have thought three years was enough time to learn how to do that, wouldn't you.

Good point. Then again I thought Wakefield would really struggle this year so as long as they continue to confound their doubters one would have to assume John Kear knows what he's doing.

You would. But as he's only learned to kick in 9 years I'm not surpirised TBH.

| Well he's gone back to Wakefield to, in his words, "win silverware". Wasn't that why he joined Bradford in the first place? Maybe if you were a more consistant performer Ben, you might have.

That's a bit harsh. Why shouldn't he expect to win silverware. All players strive for that. I don't think Ben can be blamed for Bradford's poor performance this year. Ben's stats were good this year and he spent most of the year covering for Deacon's poor performance.Without his try- assists
Bradford would have finished further down the ladder.Sykes and Jeffries were a much better combination for the halves but Mcnamara didn't have the balls to drop his star 7.We will never know what could have been!!Good luck to Ben and his return to Wakefield.

Out of the >20 or so to play for Bradford this year you'd be hard pressed to name more than 3 or 4 who have performed consistently well.

| Deacs has played really well with Sykes towards the end of the year too late I know but Jefferies has produced great displays this year but never does it consitently and glad to see the back of him never rated him and why Wakey have signed I don't know but John Kear is good at getting the best out of players but just ot a consitent player and Deacs has been a legend for us and he was awful for two thirds of the season but he's not been fully fit you could tell he was never 100%, I doesn't deserve the stick he's getting atm. when we'll KKearney be announced wikipedia says we've got him.
