| Quote: Keiththered "Hopefully having spoken to people at our club and bearing in mind that it his career on the line he feels he knows more about his prospects of developing his game than you do as a complete outsider. I am sure you would have held the same opinion about Cas' signings for this season. Your first quote gives you away. If you weren't being disrespectful you would not feel the need to comment on it.'"
I am talking in respect of other players who have left and improved as in Bateman . Whitehead and Kopout in how they have improved since leaving the bulls . Also please don't get me wrong Hull kr are in a much better position to develop Donaldson than us at the moment . It was simply a comparison to previous academy players who have left . Don't take anything in bitterness Donaldson is a great guy and wish him all the luck and as far as the robins are concerned I hope you have a great season next year .

| I wonder if this is good news for Addy if he is to stay. I want to see Addy given a prolonged go at loose forward as I think this is his best position. Peterson and Ferguson in the second row look like a tough pair to me.

Oh dear. I think Peterson is bigger than Donaldson, so perhaps you'll be disappointed.

| Gutted Donno is going. Massive heart, great defence. Struggles in attack but I believe this will improve with confidence

| If you had been told two weeks ago that you could only keep two out of Addy, Donno and O'Brien - which two would you have gone for?
Who knows, he may not have been offered a contract. I have stood along side many supporters who talk about his tackling but very little else. We are entering a period of change. I think some players will and should move on. It was them and the poor coaching that let in 50+ points on occasions. Time for some fresh faces. Jimmy will keep some but bring in his own choices. I wouldn't want to see every player retained and none brought in.

The question at the top of your post is somewhat irrelevant, to be fair, as that scenario [to the best of my knowledge] never existed. Whilst it's fair comment, and no doubt true , to say that some will come and some will leave, to lose someone who is, despite your valuation, apparently worth a SL contract, is disappointing. To be honest, I'd suspect it wasn't the club's decision, and I wouldn't blame him at all for taking the best offer on the table.
When the recruiting is done and all the ins and outs have come and gone, we'll have better idea of how things are panning out.

| Tough decision but probably best for everyone. JD admitted in the T and A article from earlier today that he was ready for a change and wanted a new challenge. The easy option would have been to stay at Odsal and roll the dice in the Championship next season. I'm not sure he'll make any huge improvements playing at Hull KR, perhaps a move to a top 6 team could have benefitted his game a little more.

| Sad to see him go, he is one of those players who you feel always gives his best both on and off the field. Agree with previous comments about his lack of impact going forward but definitely a grafter in defence.
Can't knock him for taking a contract in SL, best of luck Donno.

| Disappointed Donno is going, but realise that we would loose some players.. Thought his defence was superb and found him to be a decent young fellow... Wish him all the best for his future. None of us know what the Championship will bring yet it has got to be a difficult choice for a player, we do not know what happens behind the scenes.

| I watched him a little bit at 18s and 21s and he had a nice short passing game. Now he's a willing defender who's not big enough. A smashing lad, good luck to him.

| We signed him when we were about as good as Hull KR are now, like an average team.
Can understand why he wanted to stay in Super League now we've been relegated but average will probably be as good as it ever gets for Donno.
As others have said he is a willing defender and that is it. No go forward or handling ability whatsoever. Poor lad has a lack of size holding him back too.
If we get Langley back in replacement Id be happy and Im really pleased we have kept Addy, would have been tough to take losing him, Donno not so much.

| Langley is Donaldson but bigger. Peterson Walker and Addy are all in the LF frame, all with different strengths and weaknesses. Langley back would be nice but not sure it will happen.
