Bateman - EXTEND CONTRACT
Diskin - [iRetireing at the End of 2013 I believe.[/i
Manuokafoa - NEW DEAL

Walker - NEW DEAL
With these in back upHopefully Stuart Fielden[/i
Addy
O'Brien
McAvoy

Hopefully one or 2 more signings. If Fielden signs then he would go into starting 13 in place of Scruton.

I understand that but if any of the players have/are intending on leaving via the Koppy route, us fans won't realise/find out until next week at the earliest. Who's to say, he hasn't already served notice, or will serve notice at some point today?
Now that our SL status has been approved, I would feel 'warmer' if some of the young players come out and confirm they are here for 2013.

Good point. The only thing Wakefield has is < going too far there>, a couple of hundred thick and bitter RL fans and one braincell to share between the entire population.

We can't keep all three. Purtell is already under contract so unless he's forced to retire we have to keep him. RFL aren't going to let us not register him then deregister someone else midseason otherwise all clubs would start having players not registered in restive to cover injuries. So looks like well have to choose between manukafoa and sammut. No disrespect to sammut but think manukafoa is a must keep given all props we've lost. Think sammuts a bitvof a luxury player that we can't make best use of at the moment.

Agree with that. I like Sammut and he does provide that 'X-Factor' in attack, but we definitely need props. Also Manuofakoa has repeatedly said he loves it here and seem desperate to stay, which is always good.
If it turns out that Purtell has to quit, and I think we're due that decision anytime, then maybe we can keep Sammut. Or would be quota spot be better on another prop?

| Sorry to be a pessimist but will the non contracted players really sign up when they
Are offered peanuts? If we can't shift the big earners then we are going to be left with no Money to buy players. To suggest signing walker, ainscough, Joseph we really must be desperate and scraping the from the barrel.
Khan is skint and with less Sky money I fear we are finished. Potter was offered 50% less this year! So unless your going to wheelbarrow platty, Sykes, Scruton out of the club then we really are looking at getting the wooden spoon next season.
Let's invite worrincey and sheriffe back if we are going to be getting dead wood to play for bulls

Nas only wants to stay because no NRL club will have him
Or superleague club because they have filled all their quota spots for next season.

| For me there is a sufficient nucleus of players we need to retain/re-sign up. I'd be delighted if the following were available:
Full Back - Kearney
Wing - Aincough/Kear/Purtell
Centre - Lulia/Platt
Stand Off - ???
Scrum Half - Gale/Southernwood
Prop - Manuokafoa/Scruton/McAvoy
Hooker - Diskin/L'estrange/O Brien
Second Row - Bateman/Whitehead/Donaldson/Olbison
Loose Forward - Langley/Addy
If we kept the above, we'd need between 6-8 new recruits to compete to the same level as this year.
Think its going to be a struggle but as always, i'll be there to follow the team and add some encouragement. Looks like we're going to really need an 18th man!!!
