| Quote: martinwildbull "I seem to remember an opposition player driving his knees into a prone Robbie Pauls chest causing broken ribs and a long time off and he got in essence a pat on the back from the disciplinary committee, so I have no hope for justice in this case. And the frustrating thing is that the officials never see such incidents as they happen so at best it may be a ban that helps the offended teams opposition in subsequent games. To me its there and then that the decision should be made, and if the player has made the offence then he is off the pitch there and then, whats the point of a three match ban on a player that has just taken the head off your play maker? surely the 4th official should be able to make the call where a player has been injured due to foul play not seen by the first 3 officials, the time taken to get that player off the pitch is usually enough time for the 4th official to review the tapes and deliver a verdict.'"
Ahhh, am not a fan of the 4th official having such an influence on a game. However though, match officials should be more vigilant or at least have more testicular fortitude to make a decision. Alibert should either have been watching the ruck for offences more closely or he should have grown a pair and sent Bridge from the field, because it was a bad one.

| 4 match ban would do nicely.
Very cowardly, I doubt he would have done it to Manuokafoa.

From the deliberation, calculation and shape of his action he would have ben daft enough to do it anyone! Though I do think he had already targeted Jeffries prior to the tackle.
What amazes me is that he took the action he did in front of 8 Sky cameras which he could never hope to hide from.
Nuff said about his dodgy state of mind.

Chris is not a dirty player and he can rightly plead it was a one off brain fart'"
The reason the Bulls let Bridge go was his atttitude, always a loose cannon, probably not a bad thing
in RL look,at Danny Brough, but diabolical tonight, if he doesn't get a ban then the worlds gone mad

| The match was at the shay against halifax. forgotten when it was. Jim Gannon (who has recently rejoined fax) was the player who injured Robbie.
I still remember that like it was yesterday. i still hate Gannon

| the main point in the incident was the fact that Bridge prepared to lead with his elbow before he started to fall onto Jeffries. you can clearly see him cock the arm and point the elbow downwards should be immaterial where he ended up connecting the intent was there.

The 4th official isnt wired up so cannot speak directly to the ref..the vr ref can tho..it should have been a straight red..if you ref an amateur match like alibert reffed last night there would be carnage..it would just be a free for all...alibet never had control of that match last night and you just knew that something was gonna give..to just get a pen for a flop is ridiculous.

That's the point really, it was pre-meditated. You could see exactly what he was going to do. The intent was there, it was just lucky for BJ that he was a poor shot.
This is why the fact that he did not make contact with the head should really be no defence.

| Everytime bridge is on the tele he has a I'm a hard man attitude he should have had some decision go against him wen they played hudds, on the plus side I thought Bradford played really well and a lot of 50/50 decisions did not go your way.

| I wonder what the outcome would have been if it was Sam Tomkins on the receiving end of that elbow?
Extremely poor officiating this season, not just last night.

| It was a sickening challenge and one that made me grimace.
Those saying 2 game ban need their heads testing. He made a very good tackled then smashed his elbow into our player while on the ground. If it's not at least a 5 game ban then i would like to know what you have to do to get one?
If the RFL don't hit him with a hard ban then they risk having players going out for retribution (like what could have happened last night because of the incompetent officals)

| Definitely a suspension but seeing as Tommy Lee got just two matches for a far worse assault on Lee Briers then I can't see Bridge getting more than that. All the stuff mentioned on here about 'suspensions not helping Bradford' are true - exactly the same as the Tommy Lee incident, though, so we've been on the wrong side of this already this season.

Neither reckless or careless.
IMO
Intentional strike with elbow on ball carrier. C-F, that's a 2-8 match suspension.
I imagine the RFL take into account that the ball carrier wasn't injured and give him the lesser end of the sentence, but for me it would be a 3-4 game ban for that.'"
if he gets 8 matches for that i1ll show my harris in bradford town centre,,2 matches is about right

And here xe are, a mere 7 years later, and they've been proven right.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a game for it, likewise I wouldn't be surprised if they say penalty sufficient
