We have had a brilliant comeback win v Wigan which has papered over the cracks again this season so far but we made up for that by blowing it against Leeds at Headingley when we should have won.

With the exception of Saints and Wire, we have not been given a pasting but with the exception of Hull KR, we have not dished out any pastings either (Challenge Cup against lower league sides does not apply!) However the Crusaders result at MM tells its own story.

However - a bit more telling is the results against the teams we are supposedly competing with at the important end of the league. Lets have a look at that eh?

3 points out of 14 in the big games is definite improvement? This still suggests that McNamara still cannot perform in the big ones which is something I have said for long enough.

So we can beat Salford, Hull KR, Quins, Wakefield, Crusaders (once!) and Catalans? As long as that is the level that we are looking to operate in then I guess that me and my T&A ilk must be shut up but the above results show that the people of Bradford may well just have a point.

And the Leeds game at the weekend showed what exactly?

Last season we lost to all of Salford, Hull KR, Wakefield, Crusaders and Catalans. This season we've shown we're better than those teams. This is reflected in our improved league position. Apart from the Murrayfield glitch we're performing better than last year against the lesser sides.

Of course we've struggled against the bigger clubs but if you look at the squads on paper in comparison with our own you can see why. On some occasions we've improved too apart from the Saints debacle at home. What do you expect from this squad? I said at the season start that 5th would be the best we could hop for. What do you think?

I think you need to give some credit for the improvement that's taken place. Few teams go from where we finished last year to top 4 and so to do as well as we have is pretty good, especially when you compare our spending power with the likes of others. The club's had to put a limit on spending and this means we're lacking a bit of depth and class but that's not the coach's fault is it?
