| Well, I finally enjoyed a game AND we got a win as a bonus. We were helped by plenty of Newcastle errors, especially in the 1st half, but the team looked energised and far more up for it than in previous weeks. Offloads, grubber kicks, scoots from dummy half, and good defence (first half) - good rugby at last.
Only downside was a bit of dodgy defending down our right wing to let in a couple of quick Newcastle tries.
I do wonder what the Saturday evening kick off time did for the attendance, as the crowd really was pitiful.
Anybody seen or heard the official attendance figure?

How did Holroyd handle himself in the biff?
Short term his impending ban harms us with yet another suspension, long term, its good to see Toms got that bit of fire in him, as tremendous a prospect that he is, thats been questioned in the past.'"
I think a Flanagan special is a "Squirrel Grip".

Decent, levelled the offender then landed reasonable shots on three of four more before Hallas could drag him away. Even when the side were separated the the match official were talking he was still simmering.

| Sounds like we're starting to play some better rugby. The 2nd half fades remain a concern but maybe we're on the right track?
Away at Widnes on 2nd June the away at Fev on 6th June. Then we're away at Sheffield on 12th June - who plans these fixture lists? No home game for over a month when we play Dewsbury on 26th June (when I'm away). Don't fancy the game at home to Leigh on 3rd July so looks like I'll not be at Odsal until we play London on 16th July!

| I think the encouraging thing was that yes, we faded, but it wasn't as terminal as it usually is. They regrouped and scored again. A month or so ago it would probably have been a close thing.

| Yes an actual enjoyable game with a win at Odsal and some good rugby league played. We looked very good in that first half, carving them open and we marshalled them well in defence so credit where credit is due.
For a full time outfit, I was surprised by Newcastle’s performance although their fans were calling for the coach to go which might explain things. I’d like to think the amount of dropped ball was down to our good defence.
Some shoots of recovery. Concerns over the drop off in fitness / concentration second half but as someone said we snapped out of it before it was fatal.
Keep building away quietly and give us something to turn up for aswell as a new name on the coaches door

Speaking of fixtures, does anyone know why there us a week off after the Sheff away game on 12th June. We dont play Dewsbury at home till the 26th. No fixture on the 19th. Am i being thick and missing something glaringly obvious?

Nige has forsworn the biscuits for a fortnight and, with the savings, is re-laying the Odsal pitch?
